Vigor plays a lot like DayZ, which isn’t great

Vigor, an early access survival game for Xbox One announced at this year’s E3, is an ambitious new title from Bohemia Interactive. The looting and shooting is a decent amount of fun, but, like Arma 3 and DayZ, the gameplay almost completely breaks down at close range.

Bohemia opened Vigor up to a small group of players last week. The closed preview included access to two of the game’s maps, as well as a sample of the base-building mechanics. In the game’s fiction, players are the survivors of a great nuclear war that has ravaged Europe. Each person is stranded on an isolated island in Norway. Only by foraging in the built-up areas of larger land masses can they gather the resources they need to survive.

Dragon Ball FighterZ open beta and new multiplayer features coming to Switch

Arc System Works’ Dragon Ball FighterZ is making its way to the Nintendo Switch this fall, and today, Bandai Namco announced on Twitter that an open beta test for the game will begin in August. New multiplayer features, including two-versus-two, one-versus-one, and offline six-member party match modes will be available upon the official Switch release on Sep. 28.

Nintendo first announced that the title would be coming to Switch during its 2018 E3 Press Conference. Similar to the console and PC versions of the game that were released last January, Dragon Ball FighterZ for Switch will include a wide cast of characters from the Dragon Ball universe. Controller-wise, players will be able to choose between various options, including a single Joy-Con or Pro Controller if they’re looking to get competitive. The game’s classic three-versus-three matches will still be available on Switch in addition to the newly announced multiplayer features. We’ve reached out for clarification as to whether these features will be available during the beta period.

Pokémon Go photo hints at arrival of Lucky Pokémon

Pokémon Go updates are often leaked ahead of time through data mines, but the next potential upgrade arrived in the form of a photo. An official tweet from July 22 seems to hint at a new category of Pokémon heading to the game in the near future.

The message seems innocuous, as does the picture, embedded below. Niantic posed a question to players about the recently added trading component, and the photo seems like an illustrative tool to highlight that; it’s of two hands, each holding a cell phone that has the game open. The pair have just completed a trade, with one getting a Pikachu, the other a Chansey.

Fortnite founder’s pack skins are finally coming to Battle Royale

The Fortnite founder’s pack was originally released last year, on July 25, as the easiest way to buy Fortnite Save the World. A few months later, in September, when the game’s Battle Royale mode was released for free, fans who had previously bought the founder’s pack were promised skins for the new mode. But those skins never actually came out. Now after almost a year of waiting, Epic has announced the release of the two founder’s pack skins.

To thank you for your continued support, all founder's pack owners will receive the legendary Warpaint and Rose Team Leader Outfits in Battle Royale as part of our v5.10 release. pic.twitter.com/JhgswBdBZR

Nintendo sues to shut down two big ROM sites

Nintendo has filed a lawsuit against the operator of two websites serving ROMs of old Nintendo console video games, calling them a “brazen and mass-scale infringement of Nintendo’s intellectual property rites.” Already, one site, LoveRetro.co, has been taken offline.

The other, LoveROMS, has taken all of its Nintendo files out of the directory, reports TorrentFreak. Both are, according to Nintendo’s complaint, operated by the same person.
