Heaven Will Be Mine takes the mecha genre and cranks up the sexual tension

In every episode of Voltron, both the 1980s version and the current Netflix reboot, there’s always the same variation on a theme: a close-up of a giant lion-mech’s pilot in the heat of battle, sweat beading on their brow. The camera cuts to the enemy inside their own deadly ship, haughty and resplendent in their ritual armor. Outside, a power sword is raised for the killing blow. Someone’s eyeball jiggles.

Now, imagine if, rather than finishing the fight, the two pilots had a steamy make-out session instead.

Avengers: Infinity War’s commentary explains what’s up with the Hulk

The Hulk refused to show up in Avengers: Infinity War after being defeated by Thanos in the opening moments of the film, but his absence wasn’t due to wounded pride. The movie’s creative team has clarified that the Hulk is working through his place in Bruce Banner’s life, and for now that doesn’t include saving the day whenever Banner needs a problem solved.

New World of Warcraft animated short reveals who burns down Teldrassil

In the continuation of their Warbringers series, Blizzard released Warbringers: Sylvannas today. The cinematic finally answers a question players have been asking for months: Who burns down Teldrassil, the world tree?

The video shows Sylvanas visiting with a dying Night Elf. After revisiting the painful memories of how she became the Banshee Queen — complete with Arthas ripping out her soul, just like in Warcraft 3 — Sylvanas decides to burn down Teldrassil.

Destiny 2: Legendary Collection comes with every expansion this fall

Valve adds temporary fix for fake item scams on Steam

Yesterday, Valve removed indie platformer Abstractism from the Steam store. Though the game was also accused of hacking players’ PCs to mine cryptocurrency, the main reason why it was removed was due to “scamming customers with deceptive in-game items,” according to the company.

Steam users have been more vehemently complaining about Valve’s lax stance on trading items ever since. When users reported fake items, scammers would start to notice and take action to avoid being detected. While many trading community admins tried to contact Valve, there had been no acknowledgement or statement.

Clean out your PS4’s noisy fan already

Clean out your PS4’s noisy fan already

The PlayStation 4 is a remarkable device, notable for its sharp edges, rhombus-like profile and minuscule size. But with that super-small footprint comes one serious drawback. The ducted fan tends to trap dust, and after a while, it will have to spin ridiculously fast to keep your system cool.

A fast fan is a loud fan, and the fan inside the PS4 — especially the original model released in 2013 — is about as loud as they come. Fixing the problem is surprisingly simple, especially if you have a newer PS4 Slim or PS4 Pro.

Call of Duty: WWII’s new summer map adds little green army men

A new update for Call of Duty: WWII rolls out today that adds a brand-new map and the option to play as little green toy soldiers. The map, named Sandbox, drops players into an actual sandbox where players can wage war on a much tinier scale.

Call of Duty: WWII’s new Sandbox map — it’s available first on PlayStation 4 — is just one part of the game’s Days of Summer event, which also includes the return of Leprechaun Hunt and aerial dogfighting mode. The new map will see players fighting among sandcastles, plastic shovels and sandy trenches. It also includes a massive environmental hazard in the form of quartermaster Captain Butcher, who will attempt to melt the little green army men with a magnifying glass. Sandbox will also support Call of Duty: WWII’s Prop Hunt mode, which should make it even wilder.

Destiny 2’s Solstice of Heroes event is live, offers 400 power armor

Destiny 2’s Solstice of Heroes event is live now, and will continue until Aug. 28. The Solstice of Heroes is a new in-game event for Guardians in the Destiny universe, and it simultaneously memorializes the tower and celebrates the return of the Traveler in Destiny 2’s base campaign.

The event allows players to journey through old story missions for Ikora, while also playing through Destiny 2’s world content, strikes and PvP in new ways. While adventuring through the Solstice, players will be able to upgrade a new armor set to level 400. This is the only way to get 400 power armor before Forsaken is released on Sept. 4.

The Nintendo Switch has sold close to 20M units, but what does that mean?

In its latest quarterly earnings report, Nintendo announced that it has sold 19.67 million units of the Nintendo Switch as of June 30, 2018. That number may not mean much without some context behind it, but the short version of this story is that Nintendo’s hybrid portable/console is doing very well for the company.

We’re going to compare the Nintendo Switch’s sales to sales of the PlayStation 4 — and explain why that’s an imperfect comparison a bit later — to try to get some idea of how the Switch is doing in the marketplace.
