Diablo 3 is coming to Nintendo Switch. After a series of teasers, rumors and leaks, Blizzard Entertainment officially confirmed today that Diablo 3: Eternal Collection — the package that includes the Reaper of Souls and Rise of the Necromancer add-ons — will come to Nintendo’s console later this year for $59.99.

The Switch release of Diablo 3 will feature a handful of Nintendo-exclusive items, all of them based on The Legend of Zelda. There’s a Ganondorf-inspired cosmetic armor set (seen above), a pair of Majora’s Mask-inspired wings, a Triforce character portrait frame and a new Cucco pet, the chickens of the Legend of Zelda franchise.

Pokémon Go makes Celebi available to everyone next week

Pokémon Go Fest 2018 attendees already have their own Celebi, the Johto region’s exclusive Mythical Pokémon. Players who weren’t able to attend this year’s live event will have their chance to capture it starting Aug. 20, when Niantic releases a special Research task that offers Celebi as a reward.

The developer is vague about what that challenge will include, saying only that it will require players to ... test their skills. Which, that’s nothing new. But if it’s anything like what those of us at Pokémon Go Fest had to do, expect it to take a good chunk of time to complete everything necessary to earn the right to capture Celebi.

The Quiet Man’s new trailer reveals an eerie storyline

Square Enix’s mysterious new project, The Quiet Man, was first teased at this year’s E3 with a short live-action trailer. The publisher revealed more details about the game today with a trailer that shows off its combat and a more plot-heavy one.

The plot-focused trailer mixes live action and CG and follows the protagonist of the game, Dane, as he navigates a mysterious nightclub and cityscape. There are flashes of ominous-looking items — a note made of cut-out letters, a voodoo doll, a bird bound with red ribbon, a hooded masked figure. Overall, it’s quite eerie and, much like the synopsis describes, has an overall cinematic quality to it.

NASCAR Heat 3 promises better handling in a contact motorsport

Stock car racing returns to video games for a third straight year when NASCAR Heat 3 returns on Sept. 7. This video, from publisher 704 Games, lays out some of the broader vision for the latest game.

We’ve seen (or at least heard) of the expanded role dirt tracks will play in the game, particularly the career mode, but here Sean Wilson, the game’s executive producer (and a veteran of EA Sports’ old NASCAR series) is talking more about things like handling, realism in the pits, and driver AI.

Battlefield 5’s latest trailer teases its battle royale mode

Battlefield 5’s latest trailer, for Gamescom, arrived today. Players got a view of just about everything, from tanks climbing over the rubble of a bombed-out city, to the aerial combat already shown off at E3, to the varied locales in multiplayer, and even a little bit of melee combat.

Titled “Devastation of Rotterdam,” the video gives a look at that city, bombed out during The Battle of the Bulge, and a scene in Norway. The video closes out with a brief look at the upcoming battle royale mode, too.

Avengers: Infinity War directors join Tumblr in naming Shuri smartest hero

Avengers: Infinity War directors Joe Russo and Anthony Russo said in a recent Wired video that Shuri, Wakandan princess and scientist extraordinaire, is canonically the smartest person in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Given the fact that in the space of two films — Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War — Shuri redesigned the Black Panther suit, deleted Bucky Barnes’ Hydra programming and was tasked with removing the Mind Stone from Vision’s body, the directors’ statement isn’t much of a surprise. Black Panther producer Nate Moore said in January that that Shuri was the smartest Marvel hero.

A major hosting site took down all its ROMs. What’s going on?

EmuParadise, for 18 years a go-to site for emulators and ROMs to play hard-to-find, if not ancient video games, announced last week that it would no longer offer its vast library of ROMs. The legal exposure, the site’s founder said, was simply too great a risk to himself and those who have supported EmuParadise’s efforts.

Though EmuParadise did not name Nintendo, much less any legal threat from the console-maker, as the reason, many have tied that company’s vigilance and willingness to take legal action to this development, which seems like another setback to ROMs, emulation and video games preservation.

Report: Diablo 3 coming to Nintendo Switch this year

Blizzard Entertainment has dropped some serious hints about bringing the Diablo series to the Nintendo Switch in some form, and it looks like the rumor has been confirmed: Diablo 3 is coming to the Nintendo Switch.

Details from a leaked report state that the Switch version will cost $59.99 and will include Diablo 3, the Reaper of Souls expansion and the game’s Necromancer class. Up to four players can adventure together on a single Nintendo Switch system, and up to four systems can be linked together without a Wi-Fi connection if everyone would like their own screen. The game is also said to include new Ganondorf-themed armor unique to the Switch version.
