Watch the trailer for Project Judge, a detective thriller from the makers of Yakuza

PlayStation 4’s Project Judge is the latest project from the makers of the Yakuza series. Where Yakuza has explored the lives of organized crime members, Project Judge will be a detective story crossed with a courtroom drama.

As private detective Takayuki Yahami, the player will use “investigative skills” to “unveil the truths hidden at the core of Project JUDGE’s plot.” Publisher SEGA hasn’t provided specifics on these skills, but early screenshots show spying, dialogue trees and jump kicks, so it’s safe to assume Project Judge isn’t a subdued crime procedural.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice TGS trailer highlights gameplay, new combat

Tokyo Game Show is still more than a week away, but a new trailer for FromSoftware’s Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice has arrived in time for the event.

The new trailer focuses heavily on the game’s combat system, which showcases the notable differences between it and FromSoftware’s popular Dark Souls franchise. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will include impressive looking aerial combat for players to engage in: Players can use a grappling hook to reach high-up places, and engage in some stealthy maneuvers while targeting enemies. This is a distinction from the Dark Souls games, but fans of FromSoftware’s popular series Dark Souls will appreciate the moody ambience.

New Kingdom Hearts 3 trailer introduces Big Hero 6’s Baymax

Tokyo Game Show, one of the biggest gaming conventions in Tokyo, is just around the corner, and Square Enix has debuted a new Kingdom Hearts 3 trailer to celebrate.

The newest addition to the Kingdom Hearts family is Big Hero 6’s adorable Baymax and his equally cute human counterpart, Hiro. The two were introduced to the Disney family in 2014 through a stand-alone Big Hero 6 movie, but more recently appeared in an ongoing Big Hero 6 series on Disney XD. Square Enix first announced in 2015 that Baymax would appear in Kingdom Hearts 3, but this is our first look at Baymax in action. In the trailer above, Baymax and Hero partner up with Sora, Donald Duck and Goofy to help save the world from devastation.

Fighting game tournament expands, then changes, security in light of Jacksonville shooting

The SoCal Regionals fighting game tournament has introduced, and now altered, new security measures for event next weekend, in response to the mass shooting at a Madden NFL tournament in Florida on Aug. 26.

At first, tournament organizer Level Up announced that “all fight sticks will be thoroughly inspected,” meaning that competitors would have to open their sticks, even if that meant unscrewing their case. Metal detectors, both handheld and walk-through, would also be in use, enough that managers suggested everyone arrive one to two hours before their events began to allow for long security lines.

Beat Destiny 2: Forsaken’s raid first and get this championship belt IRL

Slipped into Bungie’s weekly update last Thursday was this promise: First fireteam to beat Destiny 2: Forsaken’s Last Wish raid is going to get a pro-rasslin’ style championship belt. A real one, not an in-game item.

Bungie’s teaser said that the winning team “will have the opportunity to acquire real-world trophies,” plural, so perhaps this is like work where you get a catalog and can pick a toaster, steak knives or a suitcase when you’ve been there for 5 years. Who knows what the other premiums are, but I’m betting that a heavyweight championship belt is the best one of the lot.
