You can steal the Declaration of Independence in The Division 2

The Division 2 private beta is in full swing, throwing players into a mid-apocalyptic world of Washington D.C. Early on, the beta asks players to reach the lawn of the White House and take it over as the new Base of Operations for Division agents, where players can craft weapons and get sent on missions — just so we all know what we’re dealing with here.

A few hours into the beta’s content, you come across a side quest inside D.C.’s National Archives building. Here, the Division agents are sent on a deeply important mission to ... steal the Declaration of Independence.

Fortnite account merging arrives at last

Fortnite’s account-merging support has finally arrived — that is, the ability to use a single account, and its V-Bucks and cosmetics, on multiple consoles. It’ll take a couple of weeks to get access to that inventory, but it’s officially here.

Epic Games lays out the conditions here. The big takeaway is that, after merging accounts, in-game items and V-Bucks from other accounts will be held for two weeks before merging in with the primary account.

Amazon’s questionable MMO has you colonize the ‘new world’

I enjoy playing sandbox MMO New World. This open-world adventure game teems with personality, teamwork, crafting, and combat. But New World is also perplexing and, worse, problematic.

It’s a team-based, player-vs-player survival game with elements of exploration, resource exploitation, and expansion. I become part of a guild that creates our own culture, which can range from murderous warmongering to utopian idealism.

Scorchbeast tweaks for Fallout 76’s next patch inspire little confidence in community

Fallout 76’s official blog outlined some changes coming to the beleaguered game later this month, and calling it underwhelming would be an understatement.

Basically, Scorchbeasts and their Queen are getting some tweaks, and that’s about it. To be fair, Bethesda Game Studios indicated that these are a couple of changes coming for Patch 6 later this month, meaning it’s not the only fix or feature in that update. But some in the game’s increasingly restive subreddit took it as a bad sign that these were the two highlights the weekly “Inside the Vault” post chose to pull out.

Origin friends list error stymies Apex Legends multiplayer

People looking to hop into friendly Apex Legends squads today may run into a pretty significant issue: Origin is acting up, and it’s causing people to show up as permanently offline.

The error seems tied directly to Origin, as players are able to launch and play matches of Apex Legends, they just can’t join friends’ games, since they’re listed as being offline.

Destiny 2’s Valentine’s Day event, Crimson Days, detailed by Bungie

Crimson Days, Destiny’s bloody Valentines Day celebration, returns next week to Destiny 2. Players will be able to compete with their in-game partners and earn new rewards from Lord Shaxx.

The main mode for Crimson Days is Crimson Doubles. Players will form up — or matchmake — into a squad of two and venture into the Crucible in a round-based version of Clash. However, to make the event more doubles focused, players will gain increased ability generation when standing near their partner. Players who find themselves too far away from their partner will be revealed on the map and become easy prey for enemy squads.

Pokémon Go not connecting to Pokémon: Let’s Go? It’s not just you.

Pokémon Go not connecting to Pokémon: Let’s Go? It’s not just you.

Pokémon Go’s new shiny Meltan event has made players return to Pokémon: Let’s Go! in the hopes of grabbing a Mystery Box, the exclusive item that unleashes Meltan into the wild once opened. So it’s perfect timing that, just as this event began, players are having widespread issues getting the smartphone game and Switch game to connect — a big problem, as transferring between the two is the only way to grab the Mystery Box.

Finding shiny Meltan, the mythical Pokémon with a little nut for a head, requires players to connect Pokémon Go to Pokémon: Let’s Go!; trading a Pokémon from the former game into the latter’s special Go Park area will send a Mystery Box back to Pokémon Go. Opening one gives players a small window to hunt down as many Meltan as they can find in-game.

Nintendo eShop update brings Yo-Kai Watch 3, cyberpunk thriller Observer

This week’s Nintendo eShop has a lot that’s new for Switch owners, and a little something for 3DS owners — namely, Yo-Kai Watch 3.

Yo-Kai Watch 3 from developer Level-5 sends players to the country of BBQ (aka these United States of America), where they’ll encounter new ’Merican Yo-Kai, including spirits that take the form of anthropomorphized ears of corn, baseballs, hamburgers, slices of bacon, chicken nuggets, and more. Players can experience parallel storylines set in the city of St. Peanutsburg and Springdale, where they’ll meet more than 600 Yo-Kai.
