Pathway is a mix of Indiana Jones and XCOM

Here’s a pleasant surprise: on April 15th, Pathway will release on Steam. In it, a team of adventurers journey out into the desert in search of hidden treasures and secrets. Your goal is to find artifacts before the Nazis do.

Beyond the gorgeous pixel art, Pathway’s appeal lies in randomly-generated campaigns that make every playthrough different. There are over 400 story events that promise “tough choices” for your cadre of wanderers. The game offers 16 unlockable characters, each with their own strengths and weaknesses that will aid you during your journey. The point of the game is to find secrets, whether that’s better gear or high-value treasure.

The real news here is Avalanche and Bethesda Softworks appear to be doling out access to some as preorder incentives, even though “you’ll never have to pay real human money for cheats,” this Bethesda post says.

Rumored Xbox Game Pass ‘Ultimate’ subscription would combine Game Pass with Xbox Live Gold

Microsoft is rumored to be working on a new subscription tier for Xbox Game Pass called Xbox Game Pass Ultimate that would bundle Xbox Live Gold as part of the service. The Ultimate tier of Game Pass will reportedly be priced at $14.99 per month, a $5 premium on top of the standard $9.99 monthly price.

An Xbox Live Gold/Xbox Game Pass bundle has long been rumored, but on Friday, well known Microsoft leaker h0X0d posted on Twitter that it was finally happening. Brad Sams of Thurrott later seconded the report, with The Verge reporting something similar. When reached for comment, a Microsoft spokesperson told Polygon, “We do not comment on rumors or speculation.”

Fortnite introducing Apex Legends-style respawns in next patch

Fortnite may be in a controversial state of balance right now, but that hasn’t slowed Epic down from updating the game. The developer announced on Friday afternoon that next week’s Fortnite patch will include one of the biggest new introductions since launch with Reboot Vans. These are special vans parked around the world that allow you to respawn fallen squad mates.

This feature, which Apex Legends helped popularize, will work similarly to other battle royale games. When a squad mate dies, you’ll have to collect their Reboot Card. Reboot Cards will drop along with an allies loot when they get eliminated. Once you have the Reboot Card you, or any other squad member, can take it to a Reboot Van and bring the teammate back to life.

World of Warcraft’s next patch tackles Battle for Azeroth’s biggest flaws

The latest expansion from World of Warcraft has been nailing the high points players expect from the MMO: The raids are excellent, the cinematics and cutscenes are stunning, and the visuals and music set the scene perfectly. The problems players have with Battle for Azeroth are with the connective tissue of the game: character motivations, endgame rewards, content at level 120, the Azerite system, and technical issues.

In 2019, World of Warcraft is attempting the careful balancing act of maintaining a social space for players, single-player campaign content, dungeons and raids, and daily activities and progression. All of these activities tie into advancing the player’s character, growing stronger and unlocking new abilities. Patch 8.2, aka Rise of Azshara, is the largest content patch in World of Warcraft yet, and it’s meant to shore up the weaknesses of Battle for Azeroth.

It resembles a Switch Pro Controller, except it adds a 3.5 mm audio jack and audio controls, plus two additional programmable buttons. There’s a red camo model and a purple camo version, and the unit can accept faceplates from elsewhere in PDP’s Faceoff line.

Sekiro PC mod adds ‘easy mode,’ more graphical options

A player-created mod for the PC version of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice adds an impressive variety of graphical options to the game, and even includes settings that allow you to craft your own version of an “easy mode.”

Getting the mod up and running is a snap, as long as you’re comfortable fiddling with your graphical settings in general. Here is the basic version of the setup you’ll have to do if you have an Nvidia card, and if these sentences are confusing you might want to hold off on giving this a try:
