Fortnite patch v9.40 adds another new shotgun and brings back the Bolt-Action Sniper

Fortnite probably didn’t need another shotgun, but patch v9.40 is bringing one anyway. The patch adds a fourth shotgun variety to the game, a few much needed quality of life buffs, and it even unvaulted the Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle.

The new shotgun is called the Tactical Shotgun, and it looks a little bit like an upgraded Tactical Shotgun. It will do slightly more damage than the Tactical while shooting at the same rate, and will come in Epic and Legendary rarities. Epic has also nerfed the Combat Shotgun’s headshot damage and range to help balance the addition of a new shotgun, and to give it a more defined place in the game.

Fortnite had to nerf its deep dab, and players are sad about it

Dabs are a powerful thing. Think about it: You dab during a celebration, or when you want to get one over on your haters. It stands to reason that a deep dab, where you lower yourself down to the floor in defiance, could turn practically dangerous. Or at least that was the case in Fortnite.

When the deep dab emote was introduced in June, players immediately noticed that you could use it in combat situations to avoid getting shot, although it required precise timing. You could also use it to sneak up on players in ways you normally never could, like so:

Nintendo deletes level from top Mario Maker 2 player for mysterious reasons

Any Mario Maker 2 player will tell you that Twitch streamer GrandPooBear is one of the game’s biggest ambassadors. Not only is he dedicated to playing, making, and highlighting the best Mario levels out there, GrandPooBear also does a ton to introduce new players to the game. But Nintendo seems determined to hound him.

Back in 2016, the house of Mario deleted every single level that GrandPooBear made for the first Mario Maker game, despite acknowledging that he had not cheated or otherwise broken any visible rules. Based on conversations with Nintendo reps, GrandPooBear believed that his courses were being taken down for including the word “Poo,” which would be easy enough to fix, except Nintendo refused to let him change level names. It was a mess — and now Nintendo seems to be repeating the mistake.
