Yakuza’s Kiryu rolls into Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania

Keep Kazuma Kiryu’s eyes and furrowed brows on the goal as he rolls into Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania. The star mobster from Sega’s beloved brawler series Yakuza will be joining AiAi and the rest of the monkey crew in the upcoming remake and collection as a free unlockable character.

Kiryu comes to the game rocking his iconic white blazer and unbuttoned red shirt — the only difference is that he’s super shrunk down. What more is that, instead of collecting bananas (the standard collectible in the Monkey Ball series), he gets to pick up energy drinks.

Among Us developers push back on Fortnite’s ‘Impostors’ mode

Fortnite’s new limited-time event, Impostors, is basically a straight lift of Among Us. Not only that, it’s the second time in nine months Epic Games’ battle royale has detoured into Innersloth’s turf, and their developers aren’t happy with it.

“Is it really that hard to put 10% more effort into putting your own spin on it though?” tweeted Marcus Bromander, the studio’s co-founder. Programmer Adriel Wallick posted a link to a webcomic, more or less accusing Epic of taking their work. Gary Porter, another programmer, compared Impostors’ map to Among Us’ spaceship, The Skeld, suggesting that Epic had gone so far as to crib its layout, too:

Chibi Cynthia, please destroy me when I pick up Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Cynthia, the infamous leader of the Pokémon League in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, has struck fear into the hearts of fans who dared challenge her. Now, in the Pokémon Diamond and Pearl remakes she makes her return, albeit in a much cuter, less intimidating manner.

The Pokémon Company showed new footage from Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl as part of Pokémon Presents on Wednesday. The trailer showed characters of the original world and fun minigames that would be making a return in the remakes. However, people were especially excited to see Cynthia herself make an appearance.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus will let you match with your new Growlithe bestie

The entire internet is ready to die for Hisuian Growlithe, a new evolutionary form for the fire and rock-type puppy. It appears that The Pokémon Company expected fans to immediately fall in love with Growlithe’s new bangs and beard, because it’s come prepared with a preorder gift for folks that purchase Pokémon Legends: Arceus early: a Hisuian Growlithe-themed outfit.

Yes, you will absolutely be able to match with your new bestie. Players that preorder the game have until May 9, 2022 to get the outfit, but they won’t be able to wear it immediately. The Mystery Gift feature will be unlocked in-game after “approximately two hours of play time,” The Pokémon Company wrote in a news release. Preorders are open now for players that just can’t risk missing out on the outfit.

But first, the less horrific news: Stantler is getting a new Hisui region evolution called Wyrdeer.

The Pokémon Company’s upcoming open-world game, Pokémon Legends: Arceus, was featured during the company’s Pokémon Presents showcase on Wednesday. The game, set in the Hisui region, is a totally new take on the franchise — going back to the early days of Pokémon trainers when Poké Balls were made of wood.

In the new footage shown during the livestream, developer Game Freak showed off the gorgeous open-world environments filled with Pokémon roaming free — largely separate from the lives of humans. Some other neat features include Pokémon that can be ridden: on land, in the sky, or by sea.

Here’s what’s new in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

The Pokémon Company revealed new details about the upcoming remakes, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl at its Pokémon Presents stream on Wednesday. The two games are slated to release Nov. 19 to the Nintendo Switch.

Basically, the game will recreate a lot of features from the first game, including off-beat mini games, like the Pokémon Super Contests, outside the main game. Also, the games’ Underground with the dowsing minigame, and your secret base, are making a return. In addition to all this, you’ll also now be able to customize your trainer’s outfit and even your Poké Balls with stickers that add visual effects to throw animations.
