Red Dead Redemption 2 comes to Steam next week

Red Dead Redemption 2 launches on Steam on Dec. 5, about a month after its PC debut on three other digital storefronts.

The game doesn’t yet have a Steam page, but it’ll probably be full price when it arrives. Red Dead Redemption 2 uses the new Rockstar Launcher regardless of where it has been sold (whether the Epic Games Store, GOG.com or elsewhere) and presumably that will be the case for Steam as well. We’ve reached out to Rockstar Games to verify anyway.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint’s first raid involves a mysterious jungle computer

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint has more than its fair share of issues. But for the community that has stuck with the game, there’s a bit of new content coming out this week, when the game gets its first raid. Ubisoft released a trailer for the raid on Tuesday afternoon, and while much of the content is still shrouded in mystery, we do have a few hints about what to expect.

The first raid for Breakpoint is called Project Titan, and it appears to have something to do with technology on run amok. In the trailer for Project Titan we can see a squad of Ghosts slowly approaching what looks like a computer that’s encased in glass, or crystal of some kind.

Madden gets its fastest QB ever, and a video game legend congratulates him

Lamar Jackson, the fleet quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens, is rated 96 in speed in the latest Madden NFL 20 update — making him the fastest quarterback in Madden history, surpassing one of the greatest video game athletes of all time.

That would be Michael Vick of the Atlanta Falcons in Madden NFL 2004, remembered alongside Jeremy Roenick and Tecmo Bo Jackson as one of the last great overpowered video game athletes. Sixteen years of live service and weekly roster updates have since made superhuman players obsolete, as rating science has gotten better and the ability to rerate and rebalance the game has sifted out anomalies.

Death Stranding’s tiny text will be fixed in upcoming patch

One of Death Stranding’s shortcomings, the tiny typeface that permeates the game’s menus and user interface, will be addressed in an upcoming patch for the game, developer Kojima Productions said on Twitter. According to the studio, players will soon have “the ability to increase text size.”

Kojima Productions said that’s just one player request it’s addressing; the option to dispose of individual vehicles is another. Those changes will be addressed sometime in December.

PlayStation Plus offers Titanfall 2, Monster Energy Supercross in December

PlayStation Plus subscribers will get access to two action-packed games this December: Respawn Entertainment’s first-person shooter Titanfall 2 and Milestone’s motorcycle racing game Monster Energy Supercross — The Official Videogame. Both PlayStation 4 games will be available as part of PlayStation Plus starting Dec. 3.

Titanfall 2 was released in October 2016, and delivered one of the best sequels and one of the best single-player shooter campaigns this decade. It was one of Polygon’s games of the year for 2016, thanks to its focus on gameplay-first set pieces and thrilling, tightly designed campaign. If you only know the Titanfall universe thanks to Apex Legends, Titanfall 2 is worth downloading from PS Plus. (And if you’re enjoying Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, you’ll get more of that Respawn single-player flavor right here.)

No Man’s Sky will soon let you upgrade your favorite starship

If you’ve ever loved your starship in No Man’s Sky, but wanted it to be a little bit faster, or have a slightly bigger inventory, developer Hello Games has some good news. In the latest No Man’s Sky update, Synthesis, you’ll be able to upgrade your favorite starship all the way up to S-Class.

The new upgrade system comes as part of this update’s Ship Salvage system, which will also let players break down ships they no longer want. These unwanted ships can now be turned into scrap materials, or even augmentations that allow you to increase the inventory of other ships.

Get yourself a Gigantamax Snorlax in December

I’ll just say it: Snorlax is the best Gigantamax Pokémon of the bunch.

In Pokémon Sword and Shield, Pokémon have the ability to transform into massive versions of themselves, called Dynamax and Gigantamax. Dynamax Pokémon are just really, really big, but Gigantamax Pokémon are big and change form. For Snorlax, he’s grown from a sleepy, round monster into a sleepy, round monster with a park growing on his belly. Move over, Torterra.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s first season detailed, battle pass teased

The first season of content is coming to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on Dec. 3, and almost all of it, from multiplayer maps to new modes, will be free and available on all platforms at the same time. In fact, Activision is calling Season One of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare “the biggest free content drop in Call of Duty history.”

At least six multiplayer maps will be released during Season One, including a handful of maps that first appeared in the original 2007 Modern Warfare. Those maps will be playable across traditional multiplayer, the new Gunfight mode, and Ground War.
