Soon, you’ll be able to play Teamfight Tactics, the League of Legends-themed auto-battler game, where ever you go. On Monday morning, Riot announced that TFT will arrive on mobile devices in mid-March.

The mobile version of TFT will include plenty of improvements designed specifically for mobile platforms. Teamfight Tactics producer Dax “Lunchboy” Andrus explained in the video that Riot wanted to bring the game to mobile in a way that felt intentional, rather than just a PC port.

League of Legends developer Riot Games is making new board games

Riot Games ended 2019 with a flurry of new video game announcements. Now it says it’s expanding further into tabletop games. Its next title is called Tellstones: King’s Gambit, and the developer says it’s just one of “many” board games currently in development. Riot also announced a new internal studio, called Riot Tabletop, that will head up the effort.

“We’re gamers,” Riot wrote on its official website. “That means more to us than just video games. You can tell by the pile of board games, miniatures, and roleplaying books stashed around the office. So it was natural to explore what would happen is we brought the Riot perspective to tabletop games.”

Grand Theft Auto 4 no longer being sold on Steam

Rockstar Games has pulled the PC version of Grand Theft Auto 4 from sale, as the developer addresses a technical issue with the game.

Grand Theft Auto 4 disappeared from Steam over the weekend — the product page is still up, but customers can’t purchase it — because of its ties to Microsoft’s Games For Windows Live platform. According to a statement from Rockstar, Games For Windows Live’s demise impacts how the game is sold through services like Steam.

Dev says game started selling 400% better on Steam after releasing torrent

When top-down shooter Danger Gazers released on Steam earlier this year, it didn’t make much of a splash. A week later, the developer, Shota Bobokhidze, uploaded a torrent of the title on The Pirate Bay, noting that “there’s no catch here, no Steam only features, just the fully functional game.” In return, they asked players who liked the game to consider buying it at full price. Bobokhidze told Polygon that they estimate the gambit resulted in a 400% sales increase.

You can see it in the Steam reviews for the game, where players note that it became an “instant purchase” the second they say that the developer released a torrent for players who couldn’t afford it.

Minecraft gets a magical makeover with this wild Harry Potter mod

Harry Potter fans have been waiting for a large-scale, open-world RPG where they can play their own witch or wizard, and it looks like one of the best avenues for that experience is coming to Minecraft, thanks to the efforts of a dedicated bunch of fans.

What makes this mod remarkable is that it’s far more than just a remake of the Hogwarts castle — although we do get shots of many familiar scenes, from the dining hall to the more forbidden corners of the school. This mod comes with gameplay, including the ability to learn spells, complete challenges, and even summon Patronuses in order to ward off deadly Dementors.

Texas gamer sends police help to save friend — in the United Kingdom

What’s the opposite of SWATting? How about just “saving someone’s life.” That’s what a Texas player did for her online teammate, an ocean away in the United Kingdom.

The BBC and Sky News both reported this weekend on the fast thinking of Dia Lathora, 21, of Texas, who suspected her gaming partner, 17-year-old Aidan Jackson, might be having a medical emergency. In fact he was; reports say it was a seizure. Lathora managed to phone public safety in Widnes, in the northwestern English county of Cheshire, and get them to Jackson’s home.
