Drake signs streaming deal with Caffeine

Drake, the multi-platinum musician and international hip-hop superstar, has entered into an exclusive deal with streaming site Caffeine. The multi-year deal will include livestreams, a co-produced show, and more “curated live content” in the future.

Caffeine is similar to game streaming platforms like Twitch and Mixer, but Caffeine hasn’t been home to the kind of high-view streamers of those services, who often stream every day for hours on end. Instead, Caffeine has largely focused on partnering with high-profile celebrities like rapper Offset and Pittsburgh Steelers’ wide receiver Juju Smith-Schuster, who both stream games on the platform.

Pokémon Sword and Shield players are seeing more hacked monsters recently

Pokémon Sword and Shield players are seeing more hacked monsters recently

Pokémon, as a series, has always had a hacking problem — nobody expected Pokémon Sword and Shield to be any different in this regard thanks to the ubiquity of cheating tools. But recently, players have seen an uptick in monsters that, technically, shouldn’t be in the game right now.

Pokémon Sword and Shield’s limited Pokedex means that there’s a list of creatures that aren’t supposed to be in the compendium, at least not until the release of Pokémon Home, which will allow players to import their wider collection. But according to reports around the web, players are suddenly seeing monsters that aren’t on Sword and Shield’s Pokedex. Perhaps the most popular of the bunch is Litten, a starter in Pokémon Sun and Moon that doesn’t make an appearance in Sword and Shield, at least not yet. (This also means an increase in Litten’s evolutions.)

Red Dead Redemption 2 tilt shift trick makes everything tiny and cute

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a realistic and sometimes grim look at life on the American frontier. But a new perspective on Red Dead Redemption 2, tilt-shifted to make everything look model-train-sized, makes the Wild West look absolutely adorable.

YouTube channel Red Dead Online Guides put together the above tilt-shifted video for Red Dead Redemption 2, showing off the wilderness and towns like Strawberry and St. Denis from a Cities: Skylines-like perspective. This isn’t necessarily a mod that you can install for the Windows PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2; it took some work.

First details on Riot’s new shooter Project A emerge from Counter-Strike pro

Riot Games revealed its mysterious shooter Project A back in October 2019, but has kept the game’s details a carefully guarded secret. Now it seems that the company is showing Project A to a few more people, including Counter-Strike: Global Offensive commentator HenryG, who was able to share a few of his first impressions about the game on Twitter.

One of the first things that HenryG notes in his Twitter thread is that the game feels most similar to CS:GO if he had to give a quick comparison. What he played featured round-based games with five-on-five combat, all wrapped in a tactical shooter package. He notes that the matches he played required 12 rounds for one team to win the game, had attackers and defenders that switched halfway through the game, and the maps had two bomb sites — this description is almost identical to Counter-Strike’s Defuse, the game’s most popular and well-known mode.

Breath of the Wild fans find cool new teleportation combat tech

Sometimes, it’s easy to forget that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has been out for three years already. It seems like every month, there’s something else to talk about, whether that’s another glitch, a speedrunning accomplishment, or a cool discovery. Lately the glitch-hunting community for Breath of the Wild has been coalescing around a new trick that, frankly, makes me feel bad for the poor enemies on the receiving end.

It all began with a short clip from GoldheartOdyssey, a player that, seemingly by accident, somehow made Link vault forward after doing a flip:

The Division 2’s new expansion will rev up the story, revamp gameplay

Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is getting a paid expansion called Warlords of New York which will add a slew of new narrative content and major gameplay changes to Ubisoft’s shooter. The scope of those changes makes today’s announcement sound every bit as foundational as the original Destiny’s The Taken King expansion, which changed the trajectory of Bungie’s franchise and raised expectations for Destiny 2. Of course, fans won’t know for sure if Ubisoft has met the mark until they arrive in Lower Manhattan on March 3.

Warlords of New York will take players back to New York City, the setting for the original The Division, which was released in 2016. Ubisoft says it will finally return to the main storyline of that game as well, which was largely abandoned in The Division 2. That means putting players back on the hunt for Aaron Keener.

Destiny 2 taken offline again after players report missing items and currency

After major downtime two weeks ago, Destiny 2 is down once again for emergency maintenance. Players are being greeted with “Destiny 2 servers are not available” messages upon log in.

On Tuesday morning, Bungie launched Destiny 2’s Crimson Days Valentine’s Day event. But about 90 minutes after the event hit live servers, Bungie removed all players from the game and initiated emergency maintenance.

Borderlands 3 getting a level cap increase and skippable cutscenes

In the latest post on Borderlands 3’s website, developer Gearbox revealed changes coming to the game over the next few months.

Coming in Borderlands 3’s Feb. 13 patch, players can increase their level from the previous cap of 50 to the new cap of 53. As usual, each level comes with a skill point for players to acquire new abilities or enhance old ones. In the same patch, players will gain the ability to skip cutscenes — regardless of whether they’ve seen them before.

Spider-Man fan tries slinging basketball into hoop, nearly breaks game

Sometimes, the most fun we can have with a game will be an activity or obsession that the developers never intended for us. Take for example this player’s amazing quest to shoot a hoop in Marvel’s Spider-Man for PlayStation 4.

You can do a lot of things in the game, but playing basketball is not technically one of them. One day, however, YouTuber Reetae27 was hanging out in one of the game’s basketball courts, and he accidentally kicked one of the balls. This is when he started descending into a rabbit hole.

Bulletstorm studio’s new shooter Outriders coming to PS5, Xbox Series X

Square Enix is bringing Outriders, the next game from Bulletstorm and Gears of War: Judgment developer People Can Fly, to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The co-op shooter is also coming to previously announced platforms — PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One — by the end of 2020.

In addition to confirming next-generation PlayStation and Xbox versions of the game, a new trailer for Outriders released Tuesday reveals more about the story of the game’s sci-fi story. Escaping a dying Earth, humanity finds solace on a strange new planet called Enoch, the source of a powerful anomaly and hostile indigenous life. Enoch also grants its new human visitors fantastical and destructive superhuman powers: the ability to shoot flame, freeze enemies, and summon rocky earth as protective armor.
