PUBG’s latest patch will add a bazooka to Karakin

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is getting its biggest weapon ever. In the game’s upcoming patch 6.3, PUBG Corp. will add the Panzerfaust bazooka to Karakin, the game’s smallest map. Along with the Panzerfaust, the new patch will also include a few much-needed balance changes that should help out some of the game’s weakest guns.

The Panzerfaust probably works the way you think it would: It’s big and unwieldy and when it’s fired it blows up everything in the area. These weapons are one-time use only, but they can destroy certain walls throughout Karakin, just like C4. Just to make the weapon a little bit scarier, it also discharges a small explosion out of the back of the gun, meaning that any teammates behind it are in for an unfortunate surprise. For now the Panzerfaust will only be available on Karakin.

Remembering the time I slapped my own forehead in VR

I slapped my own forehead when I finally solved the puzzle that had kept me stuck for the past hour, and was shocked when my hand smacked into a VR headset, snapping my head backward. It’s really hard to facepalm when a chunk of technology is strapped to your face, it turns out.

I wasn’t even that far in The Room VR: A Dark Matter, the latest in a series of puzzle games that found its most notable successes as premium mobile titles.

You can finally ‘wishlist’ games on the Epic Games Store

On Tuesday, Epic Games rolled out a new feature on the Epic Games Store — wishlists. Wishlists are a way for people to track and follow games they want to buy eventually, whether it’s waiting for a discount or for a game to be released. It’s a feature that’s become very important for developers on Epic Games Store competitor Steam; games that are “wishlisted” a bunch have more of a chance of getting featured on the Steam marketplace.

Players can filter and “smart search” games in their wishlists. The developer said email notifications for discounts and status changes will be coming in the future, but didn’t specify when.

You’ll be able to tank careers for higher ratings in Not for Broadcast’s updates

Not for Broadcast is a cheeky FMV game that puts the player in a role of a government censor managing the nightly news broadcast in an alternate reality ‘80s. It’s a great concept for a game, with novel mechanics, although the story often swings between serious satire and silly slapstick.

Developer NotGames has announced the next series of changes to the game. Some of these will be more immediate, including changes to the way ratings work. In the current build of the game, players must switch away from certain scenes or viewers will tune out and the player will fail from the low ratings that result.

Sega’s Panzer Dragoon series returns as a VR game

Sega’s Panzer Dragoon series is coming back as a “VR dramatic shooter” titled Panzer Dragoon Voyage Record, developer Wildman announced on Tuesday. It’s not a new chapter in the franchise, however; it will let players relive episodes that appeared in the original Panzer Dragoon, Panzer Dragoon 2 Zwei, and Panzer Dragoon Saga.

Tokyo-based Wildman is developing Panzer Dragoon Voyage Record, and plans to release the game for unspecified virtual reality platforms by March 2021. Wildman calls Voyage Record “a completely new work” that will be played in a first-person view optimized for VR headsets. Players will wield a VR controller that acts as a handgun for the rider.

Disco Elysium players are teaming up to hunt down one last mystery

Disco Elysium takes place in a mysterious world that doesn’t quite work like our own. One of the most pressing questions that players are trying to unravel takes place outside of the game proper: It’s an achievement, and even though one person has claimed it, Steam shows that 0% of the population has unlocked it. The achievement, named Palerunner, offers no hints besides that name and a simple icon.

Disco Elysium has an achievement called 'Palerunner' that almost nobody has.

People have been trying everything to get it. One person got it accidentally the other day but no one is satisfied that the mystery is solved. pic.twitter.com/PB3Slnoyfy
