Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ Redd is a worse scammer than you thought

Jolly Redd’s trickster ways aren’t new to anyway playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons: The character is literally a fox who appears on your island’s version of a back alley. But everyone believed there was a limit to how far the fox could go when selling you rare paintings and statues.

Since release, the communal knowledge among fans held the core belief that, when you bought something from the con artist, you could always expect Redd to have at least one real artwork within his inventory. This was how it seemed to work in previous games, at least. But data mining by Animal Crossing extraordinaire Ninji reveals that, in actuality, not only is Redd’s store randomized, there is actually a chance that you could get zero genuine articles. None!

Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyurem join Pokémon Go raids

Pokémon’s Tao Trio is finally making its first appearance in Pokémon Go starting May 26.

The trio, which consists of Zekrom, Reshiram, and Kyurem, is the final set of Unova region Legendaries to be implemented in the game. Reshiram will show up first, appearing in five-star raids on May 26 until June 16. Niantic did not state which Pokémon would come next, but Zekrom seems most likely to take Reshiram’s place on June 16. Zekrom and Reshiram make a duo on their own, so it’s likely Kyurem will come last after these two.

Small Destiny patch fixes broken Exotics, plus a Felwinter’s Lie update

Destiny 2 saw a small patch on Tuesday afternoon, designed to fix some long-broken Exotics and an XP bug. Bungie also gave an update on the bugged “The Lie” quest, where players will eventually earn the returning Felwinter’s Lie shotgun.

To be clear, the latest patch does not fix the quest. According to one of Bungie’s Community Managers, Bungie planned this hotfix before the Felwinter’s Lie bug occurred, and the team at Bungie is still working on a fix for the new quest.

Apex Legends servers are down after launch of new PvE event

Apex Legends got its brand new season 5 PvE event on Tuesday ... sort of. The event that was supposed to kick off the new seasonlong quest is being hampered by server outages that appear to be keeping players from starting the event.

The mission lives in a separate matchmaking queue that players can select and then match into. However, when you try to start the mission, the game gets stuck in an endless loop of “matchmaking” and then “starting server,” and the mission never actually begins.

The Epic Games Store made it easier to get a refund

A nice change has come to the Epic Games Store: the ability to start the process to automatically refund a purchase. Prior to this, players would have to request a refund by contacting Epic Support and starting a ticket. Now, the process can be completed with a quick input. A post on Epic’s official site explains the new policy in detail.

Here’s how it works. A user can go to the Epic Games site, select ‘Account’, and then select their ‘Transactions’ tab. From there, they can select a game and request a refund. Every game is eligible for a refund as long as it is initiated in the 14 days after the purchase, your total play time hasn’t exceeded two hours, and you weren’t banned from the game. In addition, the process can be denied “if Epic determines that you are abusing the refund policy.”

Gen Con is officially canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic

Gen Con, the United States’ largest tabletop gaming convention, is officially canceled on account of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The convention was to take place from July 30 through Aug. 2 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Word came Tuesday via social media and in an official news release.

“This will be the first time in the 50+ year history of Gen Con that we will miss the chance to see each other in person, and it hurts,” said Peter Adkison, co-owner of Gen Con, “but nothing is more important to us than the health and safety of our attendees and the communities they hail from.”

Call of Duty patch makes Warzone’s Gulag weapons fully automatic, adds maps

Late Monday night, Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare got a new patch. Both games saw playlist updates, with Warzone seeing a buff to its Gulag weapons and Modern Warfare getting two new multiplayer maps. For a complete list of patch notes, scroll down.

In Warzone, Infinity Ward has replaced all of the Gulag weapons with automatics. Instead of pistols and revolvers, players will randomly receive one of six assault rifles or four SMGs. This should make the Gulag fights more electric, especially as fans use weapons they’re more familiar with.
