Breaking down Destiny 2: Beyond Light’s Revenant, Behemoth, and Shadebinder subclasses

At Gamescom’s Opening Night Light, Bungie unveiled another look at Stasis, the upcoming new powers in Destiny 2: Beyond Light. The new trailer gave us a look at a few new abilities, as well as the names for the new subclasses. But a recent update on Bungie’s website previews more of the new features, and reveal dates for each Stasis subclass.

There’s a new Stasis Field ability, which looks to come from a grenade. The Stasis Field is a giant winter storm consuming an area. Based on the trailer, targets inside the field appear to freeze over time, and potentially take damage. When enemies freeze, they seem completely unable to move. Damaging enemies with certain moves seems to “shatter” them, dealing extra damage and causing an explosion in the area.

Left 4 Dead 2 is getting an update, The Last Stand, made by the community

Left 4 Dead 2 — the cooperative zombie-themed first-person shooter from Valve Software — came out in 2009. Now, more than a decade later, it’s getting a fan-made update. It’s the first piece of new content added to the game since 2012. More noteworthy is the fact that the team behind it appears to have the blessing of the Seattle-based creators. The announcement was made on Wednesday on the now ancient Left 4 Dead website.

“It has been many years since the infection first hit,” reads the blog post. “Radio silence, no sign of life, nothing but lingering hopes... CEDA is not going to save us. But there is hope! A few brave souls have continued the fight against all odds, and soon we can all benefit from their resilience.”

The new preview video gives a great look at each individual class, and finally gives us a name for each of the new subclasses. Warlocks wield an ice staff in the new Shadebinder subclass. Hunters wield ice axes with the Revenant subclass. Titans can use the new Behemoth subclass to smash enemies with an ice gauntlet.

Respawn’s Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond coming to Oculus VR this holiday

Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond is coming to Facebook’s Oculus virtual reality devices this holiday season. The announcement was made Thursday during the opening ceremonies of the annual Gamescom convention. Developer Respawn Entertainment (Apex Legends, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Titanfall) also released a gameplay trailer, showcasing the World War II game’s single-player campaign.

Above and Beyond is the first game in the Medal of Honor franchise since 2012. It was first unveiled in late 2019 with a documentary-style trailer. Thursday’s trailer connects disparate gameplay elements for the first time, giving focus to the game’s narrative. Players will take on the role of an agent of the Office of Strategic Services (OSS), the precursor of the modern-day Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). They will drop behind German lines on the Western Front, link up with elements of the French Resistance, and kill as many fascists as they can find.
