Pac-Man’s getting a 64-player battle royale game

Pac-Man is the latest classic video game franchise to jump on the battle royale craze. Bandai Namco and Heavy Iron Studios are developing Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle, a battle royale spin on the classic dot-eating maze game for up to 64 players.

Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle will be released first on Google Stadia, a platform exclusive that is playable now in demo form. The battle royale game — not to be confused with Pac-Man Battle Royale, a four-player competitive version of the game released in arcades in 2011 — will challenge players to be the last Pac-Man standing across 64 interconnected mazes.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be fully optimized for Xbox Series X and Series S, and the upgrades will come free to anyone who already owns the game.

The optimization launches Nov. 17, and it will also be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers, where The Master Chief Collection has been part of the library since September 2018. The upgrades mean all of the included games will run at 120 frames per second, in both single-player campaign and multiplayer, with split-screen improvements and support for up to 4K resolution on Xbox Series X. Developer 343 Industries said back in August that all versions would soon receive keyboard-and-mouse support and cross-platform multiplayer capability.

Pokémon Go adds facemasks, Verizon-exclusive event

Months after changing Pokémon Go to make the game more playable during the coronavirus pandemic — and subsequently walking some of those changes back — developer Niantic is giving players the option of wearing a protective mask in-game, as they should be doing in real life while playing in public. Facemasks are now available, for free, from Pokémon Go’s in-game style shop.

Facemasks are a relatively unimportant cosmetic addition to the game, but their release coincides with a perk for Verizon mobile customers. Verizon subscribers can download an exclusive outfit, which includes a black-and-red facemask, from the mobile provider’s website.

This banner also comes with a 90-pull mercy, meaning that you’ll get a guaranteed five-star every 90 pulls. The most Wishes you can make without getting Klee is 180.
