Capcom's the latest Japanese publisher to go mobile

Capcom announced that it plans to develop new mobile titles based on popular series like Monster Hunter and Mega Man. In a release to investors, the company said it has reorganized its existing mobile branches to form Capcom Mobile Co., which will launch games exclusively for smartphones.

Four mobile games drawn from existing intellectual properties are currently planned for worldwide release by March 2017. The new titles will be based on the Monster Hunter, Mega Man and Sengoku Basara brands, among others, according to Capcom; the company has previously released mobile spinoffs of all three of these series.

Sega will publish all future Atlus games, finalizes acquisition

But don't worry: The Atlus brand will stick around

Sega has completed its acquisition of game publisher and developer Atlus, the company announced in a release. That means all future Atlus titles released in North America will be published by Sega of America, but that doesn't mean the Atlus brand is going away.

Atlus USA and Sega of America will "still act autonomously," the company said, "and no games or products will be adversely affected by the publisher unification." It sounds like Sega fans have been the beneficiary of the two companies coming together; Sega notes that Atlus' "expertise" has helped in the localization of Japanese series like Yakuza and Project Diva.

Clash Royale's top-ranked player has spent over $12,000 on the game

And he's spent even more on Clash of Clans

Clash Royale, the new mobile game from the developer of Clash of Clans, has become something of an obsession for some members of the Polygon office, as well as millions of other players all around the world. It's also received plenty of criticism for its microtransaction-centric structure that rewards players who are willing to dump cash into the game.

It's no surprise, then, that one of the game's most successful (and popular) players has poured a ton of money into it.

Here's a little more detail on the Incursion, from Ubisoft's blog:

Get it free with Games With Gold in April

Saints Row 4 joined the roster of Xbox One backward compatible titles today, Microsoft announced. The Xbox 360 game is now playable on the company's current hardware.

This is the fifth Xbox 360 game this week to get the backward compatibility treatment. Saints Row 4 follows yesterday's addition Dead Space, which it will soon join on next month's Games With Gold lineup too. This means both of April's free 360 games for Xbox Live subscribers are now playable on Xbox One. Saints Row 4 will be offered from April 16 until the end of the month.

But the team is 'considering' its options

Final Fantasy 15 will launch Sept. 30 exclusively on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One — but director Hajime Tabata isn't counting out a Windows PC release. In an interview with Engadget, he said that while he's aware of fans' desire for a PC port of the upcoming role-playing game, it's not yet in development.

The primary focus during Final Fantasy 15's especially long production period was to optimize the game on consoles, Tabata said. But once the game is finally finished, "we will definitely take a good, hard look at PC and what we need to do, and consider all our options," he told the website.
