Undertale finally launches on Xbox this week

Nearly six years after it originally launched, Undertale makes its debut on Xbox One and Xbox Series X via Xbox Game Pass on March 16. The indie role-playing game from Toby Fox will have “a few Xbox-specific enhancements,” publisher 8-4 Ltd. announced on Monday.

“We know it’s been a long time coming, but we’re extremely excited to finally be bringing Undertale to Xbox players the world over,” 8-4’s John Ricciardi said in a post on Xbox Wire.

Fortnite’s new banana Joy-Cons coming this year

Fortnite fans will finally be able to buy Joy-Cons that match their favorite game, Nintendo and Epic announced today. The Fortnite-themed Nintendo Switch controllers — featuring a blue and yellow color scheme, with a banana face around the home button on the yellow side — will launch on June 4.

The Fortnite Joy-Cons also come with some in-game goodies. The Fleet Force Bundle appears to be exclusive to the Joy-Cons and features a unique glider and pickaxe. The glider mimics the Joy-Con’s blue and yellow aesthetic, and the pickaxe is at least partially made of lightning. The bundle also comes with 500 V-Bucks, Fortnite’s in-game currency.

Skyrim, Fallout 4, and other Bethesda games get FPS Boost on Xbox Series X

Five games from publisher Bethesda Softworks now support Microsoft’s FPS Boost feature, the technology that increases frame rates for games running on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, nearly doubling their original frame rates. Those titles are Dishonored: Definitive Edition, The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Special Edition, Fallout 4, Fallout 76, and Prey.

Microsoft announced FPS Boost support for those five games on Monday via Xbox Wire, saying that players can “expect to see an increase from 30 fps to nearly 60 fps” after enabling the feature. FPS Boost was announced in February as a new feature for Xbox Series X backward compatibility with select Xbox One games. The optional graphics setting can double or quadruple frame rates for games running on the new Xbox, but requires “partner[ing] closely with developers to enhance” their games.

Outriders coming to Xbox Game Pass on launch day

Outriders, the upcoming third-person loot game from People Can Fly, will launch on Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft confirmed Monday. Players who have a Game Pass subscription can download the game on April 1 or play it using Microsoft’s cloud gaming service, which is currently in beta.

The announcement comes a few weeks after players first got their hands on Outriders via its playable demo, which allows players to take their progress into the full game. In our impressions of the demo, we noted how refreshing it is to have useful loot only hours into the game — a good sign for how Outriders may treat its loot come April 1.

Fall Guys season 4 trailer has ’80s vibes and an Among Us crossover

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout season 4 got a new trailer on Monday, revealing its sick 80s theme and a crossover skin with Among Us. Mediatonic will launch the new season on March 22.

The trailer features a typical Fall Guys Bean who gets pushed off the platform and into the goop. But instead of respawning back at the start of the course, they float there for 2020 years. In 4041, some techno-tentacles dress them up in what we can only assume is the popular garb for the time and send them on their way, into the synth-filled, neon-colored future.

Censored horror game Devotion available once again on new store

Red Candle Games, a Taiwanese developer, has launched a new online store where players can buy its two horror games, Detention and Devotion, as well as any future releases. This makes Devotion, a game that’s been long inaccessible due to a censorship controversy, easy to purchase and play.

Both games are strong horror titles with unique themes, both set in Taiwan. Detention focuses on Taiwan’s 1960s White Terror period, while Devotion focuses on a family involved with a religious cult in the 1980s.

Teamfight Tactics’ new set, Reckoning, is a battle between good and evil

Teamfight Tactics will soon get an entirely new collection of units, and Riot Games has finally revealed the theme behind them. The newest TFT set will be called Reckoning, and it will be centered on a battle between good and evil, the studio announced with a video on Friday.

While Riot didn’t reveal all of the new units that will be coming with Reckoning, it did give fans a small preview of a few of the units and bonuses. Part of the battle between good and evil will take place between League of Legends’ God-King skins, Darius and Garen. These two will give bonuses if they’re fighting against opposing forces, but won’t work well together.

Why is everyone talking about Roblox?

Here’s a fun statistic: Over half of U.S. kids under age 16 played Roblox in 2020, yet many people still don’t know what Roblox is.

But now, the world has been set aflame with Roblox fever. Major outlets like The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and CNN are all suddenly writing about this thing called Roblox. Google searches for Roblox stock have skyrocketed in March, and even celebrities like Reese Witherspoon are making jokes about it. But maybe you don’t know why Roblox has gained mainstream hype in 2021.
