Indiana Pacers star Paul George lands cover of NBA 2K17

One of the best in the league

Paul George and the Indiana Pacers may have been knocked out of the first round of the NBA playoffs thanks to Demar DeRozan and the Toronto Raptors, but there's no question that he's one of the best players in the league, landing the cover of 2K's NBA 2K17.

NBA 2K17 marks the first time the power forward, who also played on the 2017 All-Star team in February, has been featured by himself on the cover of an NBA 2K game. Previously, George was on the cover of 2K's MyNBA2K16's companion app and was a guest commentator at the NBA 2K16 Road to the Finals competition, which took place on June 1 last year.

Minecraft tops 100M copies sold, 40M people play every month

Minecraft continues to churn out sales following Microsoft's late 2014 purchase of the game and the studio that made it.

In 2016 alone, according to Microsoft's numbers, Minecraft has averaged more than 53,000 copies sold a day. And the total number of copies sold since the game's launch, as of yesterday evening, was 106,859,714. That would make Minecraft owners the twelfth largest country in the world, if they all decided to go live together in one happy, game-playing commune.

The developer of The Order: 1886 goes cute and colorful for its next game

The next game from developer Ready At Dawn — the independent studio best known for cinematic action games like The Order: 1886 and the God of War series — is a colorful, physics-based multiplayer brawler named Deformers.

In Deformers, up to eight players can beat each other up as blobby, ugly-but-adorable creatures known as Forms. Players body slam and shoot each other in arena combat that smacks of a squishy, family-friendly Twisted Metal. It's a blast, with hints of Smash Bros., Rocket League and Splatoon, but with a unique sense of style.

The numbers keep shooting upward

Nearly 11 months after its debut, Rocket League is still doing well: Developer Psyonix has now sold more than 5 million copies of the vehicular soccer game, reports Forbes.

Those sales are separate from the millions of times that PlayStation 4 owners downloaded Rocket League free last summer, when it was a PlayStation Plus title during the month of July. In addition, Rocket League players have bought more than 5 million pieces of downloadable content for the game across PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One.
