Heroes of the Storm’s 2015 World Champion team disbands, gives up on game

Is this a sign of struggles for Blizzard’s latest esport hopeful, or just a team that couldn’t get it together?

Heroes of the Storm continues its struggle to gain traction as an esport. Yahoo Esports reports that Cloud9 has officially dropped its team for Blizzard’s multiplayer online battle arena game.

The news will come as a shock to those who have been following the burgeoning esports scene for Heroes of the Storm. Back in November, Cloud9’s five-man squad for the game actually took first place at the 2015 Heroes of the Storm World Championship at BlizzCon. They beat out other popular groups, such as Team Dignitas, Team DK and Na’Vi.

Fallout 4 goes free on Xbox Store

Best deal ever or massive price error?

The Xbox One version of Fallout 4 and all of its downloadable content are currently free on the Xbox Store in what is either a massive price screw up or one of the best deals going for Xbox One owners.

Fallout 4, its digital deluxe bundle and the game's season pass all currently ring up for $0.00. The deal — or, possibly, the reason HR will list for someone's termination from Microsoft — was spotted by NeoGAF user Kindekuma. We've tested the download ourselves and were able to purchase the game and its season pass for free.

New Cuphead video shows off indie platformer's gameplay

The game teased at E3 2014 is almost here

Cuphead, the run-and-gun game developed by StudioMDHR, was first shown off during E3 in 2014. At the time, the game was only 40 percent complete. Now, the old-school, Walt Disney cartoons-inspired game is preparing to launch on the Xbox One and PC, and the studio has released new gameplay footage ahead of this year's E3.

In the video, hosted by IGN and which can be seen above, our hero Cuphead can be found running through a grassy and hilly level, dodging mean-looking flowers in the process. There are other enemies that try and attack Cuphead, as well, including Alice in Wonderland-looking mushrooms and a jumping black ball that bears some resemblance to the Chain Chomp monsters in Super Mario games. The level is set against a backdrop of '30s-inspired jazz music and ends with an enthusiastic "bravo" once completed.

The Division is taking the gloves off, issuing permanent ban after first offense

But is it already too late to keep the community from abandoning the game on PC?

In an announcement issued today on the official website, the team behind multiplayer online shooter Tom Clancy's The Division admitted that their initial steps to curb cheating in-game were not effective. Starting immediately, first-time offenders will receive permanent bans from the game.

Last month, during episode 10 of the game's official podcast, technical director Anders Holmquist shed some light on how The Division's server architecture allowed cheating to happen in the first place. The root of the issue is in how the game itself is designed, and what attributes are tracked on the server side and what attributes are tracked on the client side.

Destiny: Rise of Iron isn't coming to PS3 or Xbox 360

Time for an upgrade?

Destiny: Rise of Iron, the game's next expansion, will not be released on PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, publisher Activision announced today.

Rise of Iron will be the first Destiny expansion to be available only on current-generation consoles; today's announcement confirms a leak from earlier this week. The base game and its first three add-ons — The Dark Below, House of Wolves and The Taken King — were all released on PS3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Activision said earlier this year that a full sequel to Destiny is scheduled to launch in 2017.

Watch Dog 2 pre-orders come with an actual robot and free serial killer

Mission packs and more listed for sale, here's how to find what you want

With the formal announcement of Watch Dogs 2 just yesterday, Ubisoft has already unveiled multiple pre-order options. But, depending on where you buy them and what web page you're looking at it can be a little confusing. So, let's break them all down.

The Gold Edition Collector's Edition tops the list at $149.99, and includes the base game along with two "deluxe packs" of additional vanity items like skins for weapons, vehicles, drones and more. The Deluxe Collector's Edition retails for $119.99 and, as far as the product description goes, seems to contain the same stuff minus the season pass. Below that is the plain old Collector's Edition for $109.99, sans vanity items and season pass of course.

Street Fighter 5's story mode is a spectator experience

Street Fighter 5's story mode is a spectator experience

The long-promised new addition is a lot more watching than it is playing.

I've played the first hour and change of Street Fighter 5's upcoming story mode, and whether my news is good or bad depends on what you want out of a fighting game solo offering.

I know that's infuriating to hear, and not particularly informative, but hear me out.
