Crash Bandicoot returns to PlayStation with three remasters and in Skylanders Imaginators

Before Nathan Drake, there was Crash Bandicoot

Crash Bandicoot will return to PlayStation platforms in Skylanders Imaginators this October, followed by remasters of the first three games in the Crash Bandicoot series.

The orange marsupial made its eponymous debut in 1996 on the original PlayStation, where he became an early system mascot. Naughty Dog, a developer now known for the Uncharted series and The Last of Us, created the franchise and shepherded it through its first few, PlayStation-exclusive years. By the start of the next decade, Naughty Dog moved on, and the series became multiplatform. Other developers continued creating Crash Bandicoot games, including Vicarious Visions, an Activision-owned studio that’s spent the last several years developing Skylanders titles.

This won’t be the first time that a platform enables exclusive Skylanders characters. Last year at E3, we learned that Vicarious Visions' Skylanders SuperChargers would bring Nintendo’s Donkey Kong and Bowser amiibo into the Skylanders universe on Wii U.
