Fly in style

Destiny: Rise of Iron developer Bungie is bringing back everyone's favorite rocket launcher, the Gjallarhorn, in the upcoming expansion. The studio is marking that weapon's return with a vehicular accessory: the Iron Gjallarwing Sparrow.

The Iron Gjallarwing is perhaps even more over-the-top than its namesake, with shiny silver feathers covering the front and rear extensions of the vehicle. So the trailer's backing track, "O Fortuna," seems fitting.

Free tools to make the great unknown a little more predictable

By now, Pokémon Go trainers have accepted that they have to actually get up, go outside and walk around in order to catch 'em all. Thankfully, fans have created several Pokémon-tracking maps for the game to help players figure out which Pokémon can be found in their areas and elsewhere.

There's already a variety of browser- and app-based map tools available for free, and many of them are the result of community collaboration. Poké Radar, an iOS app that currently sits in the second-place spot on the App Store charts, is a map that's populated by player submissions. It includes icons of the various Pokémon found across the nation, showing where certain Pokémon cluster and when. There are species and time of day filters allowing Pokémon Go players to define their searches, as well as ratings to determine the likelihood of a player encountering that rare find in that spot.

Today’s stream won’t actually go into the Plaguelands, the new zone that is coming to Destiny with Rise of Iron. Instead, Bungie will explore the region of the Cosmodrome outside of the Plaguelands in Old Russia — a place that has "become strange and more dangerous with the passage of time."

Watch Marcus Fenix back in action in new Gears of War 4 gameplay

Father and son spend quality time together

Gears of War 4 is less than three months away, and Microsoft is teasing fans ahead of its October launch with a new look at franchise hero Marcus Fenix. A campaign demo above shows the team, including a much older Marcus and his son J.D., taking down enemies after their village has been ransacked.

The seven-minute walkthrough opens with Marcus' voice, but don't expect to get a great look at him. Gears of War 4 stars his son J.D. instead, and Microsoft hid the fact that his father would also appear in the game until E3 2016, when an older, grayer Marcus made his first appearance.

Discover new life, and blow it up

No Man's Sky is a stunning game when shown in trailer form, but some players are still a bit confused about what you'll be doing throughout the game. The game's latest trailer, which is the second release in a four-part series that will show off different parts of the experience, focuses on the game's combat.

You'll be taking the battle both to the surfaces of these planets and to the skies above them, and this trailer does a great job of showing both types of combat. You'll see some alien life, as well as the ships that hope to control the skies, and you'll get a better understanding of how combat will look and feel.
