Dota 2 gets a new hero all about friendship and the abyss

Pit Lord is now the Abyssal Underlord

Valve has been slowly bringing the heroes created for the original DotA mod over the years to Dota 2, and since Arc Warden’s addition late last year, there’s been just one left to go. Now, finally, a year after his expected reveal at least year’s International, the final DotA hero who hasn’t made the transition to Dota 2 since the game launched in 2011 is almost here.

Announced during The 2016 Dota 2 International Championship’s yearly All-Star match, Vrogos the Abyssal Underlord is a teamfight oriented control hero with a special, obnoxious ability: he can teleport his teammates and himself to a friendly unit on the map with his ultimate ability.

Florence and the Machine headlines Final Fantasy 15's latest scenery tour

You will be dazzled

Square Enix has been uploading lengthy montages of the most gorgeous views in Final Fantasy 15, and its latest "World of Wonder" video may be the best one yet. Watch above for an introduction to the aquatic areas throughout the game’s world, this time scored by award-winning pop act Florence and the Machine.

Final Fantasy fans (or those of Florence and the Machine) will recall that the group, fronted by Florence Welsh, is providing the game’s theme song, a cover of "Stand By Me." (That news came out of the game’s big reveal event earlier this spring, where Florence and the Machine performed the classic tune.) Yet the band released a Final Fantasy 15-themed EP today that also includes two other songs, one of which provides the soundtrack for the new "World of Wonder" clip. "I Will Be" is a more subdued ballad than Florence and the Machine’s typical melodramatic fare, but it adds some swelling emotion to a video that may otherwise just come off as three minutes of magical beasts and mountains.

Nordic Games changes its name to THQ Nordic

THQ lives again, in a way

Nordic Games, the Vienna-based publisher that purchased "substantially all" of defunct company THQ's properties in 2013 — including titles in the Darksiders, Red Faction, de Blob and MX series — is changing its name. The company is rebranding to THQ Nordic.

The change to THQ Nordic, the company said in a release, "represents a core approach of doing much more than ‘owning’ a highly competitive portfolio of IP." THQ Nordic calls the name change the "next phase in our company’s evolution."

No Man's Sky patch coming soon for the 'most critical issues,' says Hello Games

Here are some workarounds in the meantime

No Man's Sky hasn't lifted off into space without some problems here and there, and developer Hello Games said today that it is making an effort on a few different fronts to address the issues quickly.

"We’re tracking a number of issues, bugs and crashes that players are reporting, and working to resolve [them] as soon as possible," said studio head Sean Murray in a post on the No Man's Sky website this morning. Hello Games has been overwhelmed by an unexpectedly high number of players and length of play sessions, and is "working quickly to adapt" to the situation, according to Murray.

Little Nightmares is Tarsier Studios' creepy adventure game Hunger, reborn

Bandai Namco and Tarsier Studios team up for disturbing tale

Bandai Namco has revealed Little Nightmares, a mysterious, monster-filled game set to make its full debut at Gamescom 2016 next week. But those familiar with developer Tarsier Studios' work may recognize the project and know it by a different name altogether: Hunger, last seen in early 2015.

Neither a press release nor a teaser trailer for Little Nightmares, above, mentions the project's previous reveal or seeming name change. A trailer that accompanied the first look at Hunger in February of last year also gave a longer look at the upcoming game, which still is without a release date or confirmed platforms. You can watch the older trailer below.

What time does No Man’s Sky unlock for PC?

No Man is trying to kill me

PlayStation 4 gamers have been logging and renaming strange animals, patronizingly patting aliens on the head, and exploring No Man’s Sky’s galaxies for much of the week.

But what about Windows PC gamers? When do they get to dive into the (obviously) superior version of the game and take (obviously) better screenshots of all of their wacky adventures?
