Ubisoft will release its open world winter sports game Steep on Dec. 2, the company announced today. The PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One title is set to allow aspiring skiiers, snowboarders and paragliders take to the Alps just in time for winter, with the landscape to expand further following launch.

Alaskan slopes will be added to the game as part of a free update, Ubisoft said in a press release. A season pass, included with the game’s Gold Edition, will bring further content to the game later on. BioShock: The Collection seems like a worthwhile return to Rapture

The original BioShock is the belle of the ball

The BioShock series is one of the most beloved trilogies of the previous console generation, and with no sign of another entry in the franchise coming anytime soon, it made sense for publisher 2K Games to bring BioShock, BioShock 2 and BioShock Infinite to the current generation with a fresh coat of paint.

That’s primarily what we saw when we spent about an hour and a half playing BioShock: The Collection last week. In this three-game bundle, the original BioShock has received the most attention — both from the obvious visual standpoint, as well as from a DVD-extras perspective.

Intel introduces wireless, controller-less VR headset, Project Alloy

Project Alloy is Intel's step into merged reality

During Intel's developer conference in San Francisco this morning, CEO Brian Krzanich unveiled the company's addition to the VR landscape — a new, wireless headset that would forgo using controllers, according to The Verge.

Krzanich unveiled the early prototype version of the headset while on stage and showed off a demo of how the headset would work in "merged reality," where users manipulate real-world objects with their hands. Krzanich touted this kind of VR application as the future of communication, entertainment and work. Essentially, users could put the headset on and operate within a virtual reality universe while still being able to use their hands to do other tasks.

Quantum Break dev still wants to keep it weird

Remedy Entertainment still has a trick up its sleeve.

The Quantum Break developer has been intentionally vague about its plans as of late, teasing two new projects and a new approach to developing games. It's pushing for faster development cycles and juggling multiple teams for its growing studio. It's pursuing new opportunities with unexpected partners; its work on the upcoming Crossfire 2 — a sequel to one of Asia's most popular shooters — is proof of that.

Purchase brings Curse’s 30 million visitors into the Twitch family

Game streaming platform Twitch has announced the acquisition of Curse, which makes voice over internet communications systems, game modification platforms and game guides. Twitch did not disclose terms of the acquisition, or give a date for when it expects the deal to close.

Curse was founded in 2006 and has long touted the security features of its dedicated VOIP service, which it promotes as a safer alternative to Teamspeak and Skype. But the company's main line of business is in creating communities around popular modifications for games like Minecraft and World of Warcraft. With the Curse client, players can choose which mods they’d like to apply to their favorite games and launch into play sessions with like-minded users.
