Metal Gear Survive won't cost $60

But Konami’s not naming a price — or anything else — just yet

Next year’s Metal Gear Survive will cost less than the typical console game, Konami told Polygon. The online co-op multiplayer game, announced this morning during Gamescom 2016, will instead retail somewhere in the vicinity of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain’s prologue, Ground Zeroes.

Like Ground Zeroes, which cost $30 upon release, Metal Gear Survive is a companion piece to the longer, larger scale action game that launched on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One last year. Survive takes place during an alternate timeline immediately following the conclusion of Ground Zeroes, with Big Boss leaving behind a destroyed Mother Base — as well as a group of soldiers who are now stranded in the remains.

Explore a plantation in Louisiana

There's still quite a bit unknown about Capcom's upcoming zombie survival game, Resident Evil 7 biohazard, but today the studio released a new trailer that highlights some of the gameplay and aesthetic of the title.

The trailer focuses on a character named Mia as she explores the creepy house where the infected are running amok. Although players won't get to take on Mia in the game itself, the found-footage style tape does give some more information about the world they'll be able to explore. For example, the trailer confirms that the house players were able to explore in the demo Capcom released during E3 in June is a plantation in Louisiana run by Jack and Marguerite Baker. The latter of the two makes an appearance in the trailer and it's pretty obvious she isn't a fan of having unannounced visitors appear at her doorstep.

Don't worry, Dead Rising 4 will 'still be stupid'

Sheer absurdity is in its DNA

Dead Rising 4 has a lot of bloody, zombie mayhem to offer players. But the best parts of the Dead Rising series, according to Capcom Vancouver studio head Joe Nickolls, are also the most absurd. That isn't changing when the game hits Xbox One and PC this holiday.

"It's still Dead Rising," Nickolls said. "It's gotta be stupid. We have to make sure the things we do in the game are still stupid."
