The P.T.-like Kickstarter project returns

Allison Road, Lillith Ltd.’s promising, canceled horror project, has been revived, the developer announced on Facebook. The announcement comes just two months after the game was unceremoniously canceled, despite success on Kickstarter and a publishing deal.

After fans of the game’s social media page noticed new activity — for the first time since the project was killed — the team declared in a post that Allison Road is again in development.

NBA 2K17 wants to give you the tools to stop Steph Curry

The ball is in your court

The Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry is an unprecedented talent in the sport of basketball. His jump shot is deadly from just about anywhere on the court — even from well beyond the 3-point arc. It was so good last season, in fact, that it threatened to break NBA 2K16.

This year, NBA 2K developer Visual Concepts is taking a path that could help out players looking to defend the Warriors — a club that’s now even more of a superteam with Kevin Durant on board — while simultaneously asking more of them. NBA 2K17 is focused on giving players more control than ever on the court, and when the onus is on you to execute, that’s a big responsibility.

Still retains 10 percent stake in the ownership group

Nintendo today announced it has completed the sale of its majority stake in the Seattle Mariners baseball club, netting $661 million.

The deal's closure brings to an end nearly a quarter-century of Nintendo ownership and administration that saved the Mariners from relocating to another city. The late Hiroshi Yamauchi, the former president of Nintendo, bought the team in 1992 for $125 million, calling it a goodwill gesture to the city of Seattle; Nintendo of America is based in the Seattle suburb of Redmond.

Japan's prime minister dresses up like Mario at the Olympic closing ceremonies

Hey, it's-a Abe!

Japan's prime minister Shinzo Abe emerged from a warp pipe at the Rio Olympics dressed as Mario. You have read that sentence correctly.

The stunt was part of the closing ceremonies during the portion where the host nation for the next Olympics is introduced. The 2020 Olympics will be in Tokyo.. Abe wore a red Mario cap and was briefly clothed in Mario's overalls, which fell away. (He had a suit on underneath. Don't worry, this was weird, but not that weird.)

Two years ago, Granblue Fantasy was positively received, particularly by JRPG fans, for incorporating the classic elements of that genre and reuniting designer Hideo Minaba with the famed composer Nobuo Uematsu, who worked together on Final Fantasy 6 and Final Fantasy 9.

Sony may have a smaller, sleeker PS4 on the way

Images purporting to show a redesigned PlayStation 4 with a slimmer case design have surfaced from an online auction listing.

The seller provided to Polygon these unboxed images of the new PS4. The unit appears thinner and its edges are rounded, unlike the squared-off corners of the original design. Images of the box indicate that the slimmer PS4 may originate from Europe or Arabic regions.
