CBS has greenlit Candy Crush, a game show inspired by King’s phenomenally successful franchise of match-three puzzle games, the network announced today.

The hourlong show will pit teams of two people against each other, as the duos look to “use their wits and physical agility [...] on enormous, interactive game boards featuring next generation technology,” according to a news release.

New Twin Peaks teaser is frustratingly vague

It’s been 25 years, already

The third season of Twin Peaks is putting the “tease” in teaser. This short video, which was posted today on the Twin Peaks Facebook page, shows cast members old and new discussing what it was like to work on the show.

“Revisiting all this territory... there’s a freshness to it, there’s a lightness to it,” says Kyle MacLachlan, who plays FBI agent Dale Cooper. The cast list for season 3 is ridiculously long, but fans of the series will be relieved to see a lot of familiar faces here. There’s Miguel Ferrer, who is reprising his role as Albert Rosenfield, as well as Harry Goaz (Andy Brennan), Kimmy Robertson (Lucy Moran) and Dana Ashbrook (Bobby Briggs).

FIFA 17 title update gives much-needed buff to AI players

In response to user feedback, CPU players will attack more

FIFA 17's first title update should deliver welcome news to users who felt AI players were too passive and the shooting command was not as responsive as it should be.

"Increased the CPU AI tendency to attack directly" should make games against the computer more challenging and should also provide some assist from teammates surrounding a user-controlled team.

Popplio’s evolutionary line is Pokémon’s best ugly duckling story

The dumb clown seal has blossomed into a beautiful seal superstar

Remember how much we all hated Popplio when Pokémon Sun and Moon’s starters were announced? Turns out that Game Freak, developer of the franchise, was just trying to teach us all a little lesson about snap judgments. We’ve now seen the stupid-looking, clown-nosed water-type’s full evolutionary line, thanks to last night’s big data dump, and it’s official: Popplio is a precious flower, a gorgeous soul and a true beauty.

Meet ... whoever this is, Popplio’s long-rumored, finally confirmed (by way of leak) last evolution:

Pokémon Sun and Moon’s leaked new Pokémon, reviewed

We don’t know their names, but that won’t stop us from judging them

Here it is: Pokémon Sun and Moon’s full regional Pokédex. That’s according to some players who pored through the games’ first demo last night, when it hit in Japan and elsewhere. Turns out that Game Freak left a chunk of new Pokémon buried in there, and that includes shiny versions and regional variants.

All we have are these sprites, dutifully posted to Twitter, Reddit and elsewhere by various excited Pokémon fans. There are no names or numbers attached to any of these, and in some cases, like with the possible extended Ultra Beast line, we’re not sure if they classify as rare or common Pokémon.

Esports chairman sites declining team participation, sponsorship difficulties

South Korea's StarCraft ProLeague, the longest-running StarCraft esports league in existence, will close down after 14 seasons, the chairman of the Korean Esports Association said in a statement today.

Jun Byung Hun said the ProLeague was ceasing operations because of the declining numbers of ProLeague teams and players. "The decision to put the past 14 years behind us and discontinue ProLeague was a difficult one," Jun said, "and it deeply saddens me to also bring you the news that KeSPA will be stopping its operations of ProLeague teams."

Razer buys THX

Razer's purchase of THX won't spur any immediate changes in either company, though it will open the door for a Razer push into the broader entertainment market and the potential for THX certified sound in virtual reality, Min-Liang Tan, Razer co-founder and CEO, told Polygon.

"We did the acquisition for three main reasons," Tan said. "They have a phenomenal brand, similar to Razer, THX has quite a bit of a cult following.
