Check out Rainbow Six Siege’s new Japan map

A teaser trailer hit this morning showing off Operation Red Crow Skyscraper, a new map for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege.

The very brief video doesn’t show us much of the game’s fourth post-launch free map, but according to the description it is “perched high above the streets of Nagoya, Japan set on top of The Skyscraper.”

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare has ‘YOLO mode’ permadeath

Only slightly more difficult than the game’s “intensely realistic” Specialist Mode

Developer Infinity Ward is giving Call of Duty diehards an extra level of challenge with two new difficulty modes for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. One of those modes eliminates Call of Duty’s regenerative health mechanic, among other difficulty tweaks, while the other gives players just one life for the entire single-player campaign.

On the Activision blog, the publisher detailed Infinite Warfare’s new Specialist Mode, which will unlock after beating the campaign on any difficulty. Described as “intensely realistic,” Specialist Mode cranks the challenge beyond what we’re used to in the Call of Duty series.

Mafia 3 is 2K’s ‘fastest-selling’ game ever

Moves 4.5M units in first week

2K Games shipped more than 4.5 million copies of Mafia 3 during the game’s first week on sale, making it the fastest-selling game in its history, according to the label. It announced the achievement as part of its most recent earnings report, published Nov. 2 and marking the end of the second fiscal quarter.

At 4.5 million units shipped to retailers — not sold through to actual players — Mafia 3 is halfway to the benchmark set by Borderlands 2. At more than 10 million copies sold, the game became the publisher’s highest-selling game in its history.

Blizzard names and shames 1,700 Chinese Overwatch cheaters

Say goodbye to “It’s High N-ughhh” and “The world needs ass”

Blizzard Entertainment’s Chinese branch has a habit of not just suspending rule-breaking Overwatch players in large swaths, but also making their Battle.net handles public knowledge. The latest wave of permanent bans rolled in yesterday, Nov. 1, with more than 1,650 players getting the axe. It’s too bad for them, having lost access to one of 2016’s most popular games — but it’s also a shame for those of us still playing Overwatch, as we’ll never get the chance to see some of these excellent usernames in-game.

Joining the “wall of shame” are players who went by the likes of “Killing you makes me tired,” “The world needs ass,” “Call me the God of Bitches” and “I do not like loneliness.” Reddit user _CRISPR, a native Chinese speaker, translated some of these and other names that stand out among the cheaters. After sharing these findings to the Overwatch forum, other posters chipped in with further highlights. (Google Translate does its own magic with the list, which comprises three long posts on the Chinese Overwatch forum.)

Pokémon Go is getting daily bonuses

Now there’s a reason to log in every day again

Pokémon Go will soon have a reason for players to check back in with the game every day, Niantic announced in a blog post. A daily bonus feature will be introduced in an upcoming update, giving players additional experience points and items for catching Pokémon and visiting PokéStops on a regular basis.

Catching at least one Pokémon every day will grant a user 500 experience for their trouble. They’ll also receive 600 stardust off the bat, which goes a long way toward strengthening monsters. If players add one Pokémon to their collection for a week straight, they’ll receive a 2,000-point bonus and 2,400 stardust.

Japan gets this bizarro 3DS game next month

Nintendo has kept Miitopia close to the vest since announcing it for Japanese audiences during a September Nintendo Direct presentation. A preview build of the game is now on Nintendo eShop out East, and YouTuber NintenDaan played through and uploaded what’s now our first concrete look at the game, due in Japan early next month.

It’s still hard to tell what, exactly, Miitopia is, but we can say this: It’s inspired by classic role-playing games, where a party of Miis each don a class to take down monsters. There’s a knight, a black mage, a ... character in a cat costume and a white mage, a role NintenDaan assigns to Nikki, the face of the defunct Swapnote app.

Here’s what you get with Watch Dogs 2’s $39.99 season pass

New missions, items and more

We’ve known about the various editions of Watch Dogs 2 for some time now, but it wasn’t until today that publisher Ubisoft detailed the contents of the game’s $39.99 season pass.

The season pass features three major downloadable content packs that will be released after the game launches later this month. The T-Bone Content Bundle brings in an additional enemy class in a new difficulty mode for Watch Dogs 2’s co-op missions, along with the truck and outfit used by Raymond "T-Bone" Kenney. Next up is Human Conditions, which appears to be a larger DLC pack: It will offer "several hours of content spread across three new world stories," according to Ubisoft. Playing through it will unlock tough new co-op missions featuring an anti-hacker enemy known as the Jammer.

Time to get used to Dishonored 2’s new take on a beloved character

Time to get used to Dishonored 2’s new take on a beloved character

The Outsider is now a stranger with a new set of pipes

Dishonored 2 is less than two weeks away, but those who played the first game won’t have to wait until then to hear how a returning favorite’s voice has changed. The Outsider, the mysterious being who gifts hero Corvo Attano his powers in Dishonored, is back for the sequel, albeit without his original actor. In the trailer above, Robin Lord Taylor takes the spotlight as the character, narrating the story from the "Book of Karnaca."

A very youthful-sounding Outsider talks about the complex world of Karnaca, where Empress Emily Kaldwin must travel to reclaim her right to the throne. The plot recap plays out over a storybook aesthetic, giving this trailer a more interesting look than the average Dishonored 2 preview — or that of any game, really.
