Star Wars Battlefront 2 officially announced

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is the name of the next Battlefront game, publisher Electronic Arts announced today.

Executives at EA have been publicly discussing plans for a sequel to EA DICE’s Star Wars Battlefront since the day before the game launched in November 2015. However, this is the first confirmation of the sequel’s title. Notably, the naming convention follows the same trajectory as the original Star Wars: Battlefront titles from the mid-2000s, both of which were developed by the now-defunct Pandemic Studios.

Publisher calls Switch game case ‘incorrect’ after causing panic

After receiving criticism this week for what appeared to be a mandatory install for the physical version of Lego City Undercover on Switch, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has told Polygon that the internet requirements listed on the game’s packaging are “incorrect.”

“The information is listed incorrectly on the packaging of Lego City Undercover for Nintendo Switch,” a spokesperson told us. “Players who purchase a physical copy of Lego City Undercover on Nintendo Switch at retail are getting the complete game, and do not need to download additional content to enjoy the full experience.”

Fire Emblem Heroes is getting a special springtime event tomorrow, according to a trailer for the update that’s now online. The “Spring Festival” will run from March 30 until April 13, and big fans of the series absolutely need to check it out for one key reason: bunny ears.

Just ahead of Easter, the game is getting festive by making four pastel- and rabbit-suit-clad heroes available to summon. These include three heroes already offered in the Fire Emblem Heroes’ grab bag, as well as one character making his in-game debut. Xander from Fire Emblem Fates is making a very magenta, very dapper entrance as part of the Spring Festival.

PlayStation Plus games for April 2017 include Drawn to Death, Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime

Sony announced April’s PlayStation Plus lineup today. We’ve known that David Jaffe’s Drawn to Death would be included for subscribers for a few weeks now, but today’s press release adds Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime as well as some titles for the PlayStation 3 and cross-buy titles on the PS Vita.

Drawn to Death launches on April 4 for $19.99. Current PS Plus members will get the game for free on PS4, and be able to keep it in their collection so long as their membership stays current. It’s a third-person arena shooter with a distinctive art style, intended to look like the doodles of that one weird kid who never paid attention in middle school, but who also happened to be an amazing artist.

Destiny’s greatest line returns

“That wizard came from the moon!”

It was a line of dialogue that stopped many early Destiny players dead in their tracks due to the rather unemotional reading from voice actor Peter Dinklage, and Bungie later sold a T-shirt that proved it had a sense of humor about the large number of jokes that went around the internet. The line was removed after the game’s alpha, only to be returned after launch and then lost again when the part was recast with Nolan North.

This Overwatch play is amazing and serves as a valuable lesson

Every day, there are dozens — perhaps hundreds — of highlight clips and Plays of the Game submitted to Reddit’s Overwatch subreddit. The subreddit, one of the site’s most popular, is stuffed with clutch plays, hilarious highlights and against-all-odds comebacks. There are so many impressive examples of great gameplay it’s often hard to keep up. And often, we struggle with what to highlight on this website.

Normally, we don’t spend the effort to recycle a five-second clip or GIF that you can easily see sitting at the top of r/Overwatch. Just go to Reddit if you want to see that.
