U.K. game industry already feeling Brexit pinch

A new survey in the United Kingdom shows that 40 percent of games companies are considering moving part or all of their business to other countries, following last year's referendum result for Britain to exit the European Union.

The survey, commissioned by trade body UKIE (United Kingdom Interactive Entertainment) reveals concerns in Britain’s games industry about the country's withdrawal from the E.U., a process commonly known as Brexit.

Stationeers is the new game from DayZ creator Dean Hall. It’s inspired by the cult classic Space Station 13, a multiplayer isometric role-playing game. Hall’s spiritual successor focuses on construction and management and includes single-player and multiplayer modes.

The game was unveiled today at the EGX Rezzed show in London. Here’s a description that Hall’s RocketWerkz shared with Eurogamer:

With its mobile relaunch, Club Penguin hopes to hold onto adult fans

When Club Penguin shut down yesterday, it wasn’t just kids who were devastated. Among the most grief-ridden of mourners were people who had long aged out of the Club Penguin demographic.

Although Disney Interactive designed the game with preteens in mind, crafting a sort of “my first MMO” experience for the under-13 set, Club Penguin’s hooks kept the same people coming back for more than 10 years. It’s been the site of some outrageous stunts and fascinating political protests. It’s been the home to some pretty rad parties. Mostly, though, Club Penguin has been an all-inclusive place for people of all ages to dip into, even with that cartoony, childlike veneer.

Suspicious images prove how much Destiny fans want the game on PC

A well-timed, so-called “leak” from a Spanish-language retailer has spread across fan forums, reigniting desires for Destiny 2 to hit PC. While these images don’t imbue much confidence — the PC box art is a photo of a computer screen, for one, and there’s an image-editing program in the background — players’ excited responses to them point to just how badly they want the game to come to PC.

Another photo included in the leak comes across as slightly more credible, showing a cartoony figurine based on Cayde-6.

Atlus confirmed to Polygon that because Persona 5 is such a story-based game, the company made the decision to prohibit players from sharing content.

Club Penguin’s best fan community shuts down in the most perfect way

Although Club Penguin shuts down tonight at 12:01 a.m. PT, a Reddit forum dedicated to the kid-friendly browser game has closed up shop a little early. Banned from Club Penguin, a subreddit where players catalogued ways they got their penguins kicked out for good, has gone private, and it’s left behind a perfect goodbye note.

When the subreddit loads, it has a pretty clear message for visitors: “You’ve all been banned from /r/bannedfromclubpenguin.”

A makeup artist tricked people into thinking Emma Stone is in Death Stranding

Like most Hideo Kojima joints, Death Stranding is steeped in mystery. But evidence for one of the game’s biggest mysteries — involving Oscar-winning actor Emma Stone — has just been debunked, fanning the flames on months of speculation about whether Kojima’s favorite actress would be in the game.

There’s been reason to believe that Emma Stone could join the currently all-male celebrity cast of Death Stranding for some time now. Kojima is a noted La La Land devotee, and he’s obsessed with Stone in particular; when asked back in February about whether Stone was in the game, Death Stranding co-star Mads Mikkelsen replied that it was “a lovely rumor.”
