Zelda: Breath of the Wild is playable at 4K ... on the PC

The Wii U and Nintendo Switch versions of Zelda: Breath of the Wild run at either 720p or 900p resolutions depending on whether the Switch is docked or not, but some fresh updates to Wii U emulator CEMU allow the game to be played at much higher resolutions if you have the hardware to power it.

You can watch the game being played in 4K in the video above, and be sure to stream the video in full resolution if you have the connection to support it. Spoiler warning: Breath of the Wild looks very, very good running in 4K.

Sega’s hinting at something, and it sure looks like Bayonetta

Sega’s got a mysterious countdown clock running, and whatever it’s ticking down to, it seems like it has something to do with Bayonetta.

We first noticed the secret site this weekend, when the publisher launched Bayonetta-themed April Fools’ Day joke on Steam. Included with the platform’s free-to-play, 8-bit Bayonetta parody were two achievements that hid a special URL. Going to that page opens up a barebones site with just the timer — and a very, very faint image of the character’s foot in the background.

We Happy Few, the psychedelic roguelike, is getting a movie adaptation

Movie adaptations of video games isn’t a new trend, and We Happy Few is the next to earn its own adaptation.

Variety is reporting that Gold Circle Entertainment, the studio that helped produce Pitch Perfect, has acquired the rights to We Happy Few and is currently in the early stages of developing the movie. Developer Compulsion Games has partnered with studio dj2 for the movie. The studio recently made headlines after it was announced that it would be producing an adaptation of Sleeping Dogs, which will star Donnie Yen, and the Sonic the Hedgehog movie.

Agents of Mayhem launches on Aug. 15

Agents of Mayhem is Saints Row developer Volition’s new spin on the open-world action genre. Unveiled last year just before E3, it surprised a lot of fans who expected the developer to jump right into Saints Row 5. Instead, the studio had created a new concept where players can swap between multiple characters with unique weapons and abilities on the fly during missions.

Whether you’re a skeptical fan or a hopeful one, you won’t need to wait too much longer to find out if Volition has delivered on its new, multi-character premise. Publisher Deep Silver revealed at an event last week that Agents of Mayhem will launch on Aug. 15. The game will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PCs.

MLB The Show 17 finally gives us baseball’s most graceful dance

Here it is baseball fans. We've found Atlantis. I alluded to this in my review of MLB The Show 17 last week, but at last I can provide a confirmed sighting of a 3-6-3 double play turned entirely by the AI defense.

For those who don’t watch baseball, or score a game, that’s the play in which the first baseman deliberately ignores the force out immediately at his base, instead throws down to the shortstop to force out a runner at second base, and takes the return throw to make two outs without any tag.

Deal-finder thought he bought a Nintendo Switch from Amazon, got a Wii instead

DealSeeker2U, a user on CheapAssGamer.com's forums, recently ordered a Nintendo Switch from Amazon Warehouse deals for $269.99. You might note that this sucker retails for $299.99. Well anyway, he was delighted to receive his Nintendo Switch box.

That's good, because that's about the only legitimate Nintendo Switch item he got. Stuffed inside was a dirty old crappy Wii, shoddily wrapped in static-free packing paper and bubble wrap.

PETA takes aim at Nintendo for 1-2-Switch’s milking minigame

The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals organization is picking a fight with Nintendo this week, and Switch launch title 1-2-Switch is to blame. After Nintendo garnered some press for challenging a real-life cow farm to a showdown in the collection’s milking minigame, PETA’s president took the developer to task for “sugarcoating the subject.”

A letter to Nintendo from Ingrid E. Newkirk, head of the animal rights organization, made it to Facebook yesterday. She doesn’t mince words, calling the game unrealistic in pretty explicit detail.
