Overwatch’s new event hides one heartbreaking detail in the sprays

Since Overwatch is mostly devoid from story on the surface, the average player likely has no idea what happened to transform agent Amelie Lacroix into Widowmaker, the cold-hearted, blue-skinned sniper who works for the opposing side. But a leaked trailer for what appears to be Overwatch’s next major event, called “Insurrection,” shows that this part of the story will make it into the game, at least in a small way.

A spray of a happy, adorable newlywed couple — unrecognizable as any of the game’s roster of heroes — is seen in a quick montage. As cute as they are, it’s a depressing reminder of what exactly happened to Widowmaker to turn her into one of Team Overwatch’s most challenging foes.

Resident Evil 7’s dummy finger puzzle now has a solution

The Resident Evil 7 biohazard demo has taunted players with a one heck of an involved puzzle since it first launched back in June. With the game’s final teaser hitting the PlayStation Store over the weekend, one player found that Capcom didn’t forget to conclude the frustrating finger mystery — albeit with a pretty convoluted solution.

For those who haven’t subscribed to Resident Evil 7 demo players’ favorite conspiracy, the dummy finger was an item discovered in the game’s first trial, released just after E3 2016. A lone digit found in the creepy house belonged to a mannequin, but players weren’t content to just leave it at that. Instead, it became the center of several fan theories about its greater purpose, an obsession rivaling that with another eerie, secret-filled demo, P.T.

PewDiePie vows to go ‘family friendly’ as he suffers major advertisement loss

PewDiePie is taking on YouTube’s new advertisement policy in a new satirical video that promises he’s going “family friendly.”

In a new video posted today, PewDiePie explained that since YouTube’s new advertisement policy went into effect, more than a third of his videos had become demonetized. The only way to earn an income comparable to what he’s been making on YouTube is to rework the type of content on his channel.

Overwatch’s Insurrection event details leak

Details on the next big event for Overwatch appear to have leaked in a new trailer, revealing what appears to be a new cooperative horde-style mode for the game. The event, Overwatch Insurrection, will also include a fresh batch of skins and other cosmetics for players to collect.

Based on a trailer posted by PlayStation France to YouTube (which has since been pulled), Overwatch’s new mode appears to be set on a daytime version of the King’s Row map. Designed to let players “relive one of the key moments in the history of Overwatch,” players will seemingly battle a massive onslaught of Omnic foes, including swarms of two-legged mechanical beasts and shield-bearing robots.

Mass Effect: Andromeda pirates won’t get the game’s new faces

Mass Effect: Andromeda's PC version was cracked and pirated just 10 days after its March 21 launch. That would seem to moot the updated anti-piracy code that was included with the game's 1.05 patch, no? Well, not if pirates want the updated, non-bugeyed, non-weird faces.

As Dark Side of Gaming points out, what crackers broke into at launch was the old version of Denuvo's anti-tamper technology. The new stuff, which is only used in four games, three of them launching since late February, hasn’t been broken yet.
