The reveal trailer showed off a dilapidated underground setting, makeshift weaponry and giant mutated rat and bear creatures — all elements that will be familiar to fans of the previous two games in the series. NASCAR Heat 2 is back by popular demand — of two key features

Last year's NASCAR Heat Evolution put a strong racing engine under its hood. It just lowered an unmistakably no-frills body onto the frame of the whole thing, which cast aspersions on what its makers had done well: race hard, and authentically.

Players had to really want to play NASCAR Heat Evolution. Fortunately, that wasn't because the racing action was discouraging to them. It's because the rest of the game wasn't encouraging them enough. As such, the main problem facing NASCAR Heat 2, coming in September, is a pretty good one to have: Bolt on more parts, and the game's biggest flaw — depth — will take care of itself.

Star Wars Battlefront 2’s starfighters have been completely overhauled

Star Wars Battlefront 2 will feature much more starfighter combat than its predecessor, and that means Criterion Games has a bigger role than ever. The studio, famous for its work on the Need For Speed series, tells Polygon that much of what they’ve learned making cars fun to drive applies directly to making an X-Wing or a TIE fighter fun to fly.

“The camera is probably responsible for more than half of the feel,” said Battlefront 2 executive producer Matt Webster, also general manager of Criterion Games. “It’s about how the camera moves around the ship. This is something that is our bread and butter. It just so happens that it also manifests itself around a car.”
