Destiny 2 fans data-mine 11 new Vault of Glass armor mods

The reprised version of the original Destiny raid, Vault of Glass, will make its Destiny 2 debut on Saturday, May 22. This new version includes most of what made the original raid special, specifically its famous arsenal. But the new Vault of Glass also comes with some modern systems to align it with Destiny 2. This includes powerful, raid-specific armor mods exclusive to the Vault of Glass.

Data miner JpDeathBlade — who runs Today In Destiny, helped uncover the shenanigans around Bungie’s frustrating new Transmog system, and regularly finds secrets hidden in Destiny 2uncovered the full list of Vault of Glass mods coming on Saturday. Assuming these mods work similarly to ones from Beyond Light’s Deep Stone Crypt raid, players can slot them in special slots only available on the Vault of Glass raid armor. The mods will then give players bonuses while they’re in the Vault of Glass raid.

Rocket League’s F1 fan pack brings a little Monaco to car soccer

Formula 1 is a spectator sport on the rise, and a crossover with Rocket League would seem to suggest as much. The Rocket League store’s Formula 1 Fan Pack is available tomorrow, giving players a new car and all 10 F1 teams in their current liveries.

The pack includes a competition car based on the Formula 1 chassis (it has a Dominus hitbox) and 10 decals spanning Alfa Romeo to Williams, so you can support your favorite team, or pick the one that looks newest and coolest. All cars are racing on Pirelli tires, too, and I note that’s the soft compound they’re using.

Lies of P answers the question ‘What if FromSoftware made Pinocchio?’

Lies of P is a new “Souls-like” action RPG that blends the classic children’s story Pinocchio with the plague-filled horrors of Bloodborne. Developed by Round 8 Studios (Bless Unleashed) and published by Neowiz, the game is slated to come to Google Stadia, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X in 2023.

Lies of P looks like a horrifying take on the toy-becomes-boy classic. The first part of the trailer shows a rat squirming out of what appears to be a dead man’s mouth. It’s a far cry from the cheery tale many people know from the animated Disney film.

Destiny 2 fans waste hundreds of Iron Banner tokens due to bug

Destiny 2’s monthly PvP spectacular, Iron Banner, made its debut in the Season of the Splicer on Tuesday. This time around, Iron Banner vendor Lord Saladin brought with him several weapons: two reprised Iron Banner guns from past seasons, and two brand-new weapons, the Riiswalker shotgun and the Archon’s Thunder machine gun.

Unfortunately, a bug has prevented the new weapons from dropping like they’re supposed to. Even worse, Bungie wasn’t able to inform Guardians of the bug until after many players wasted their Iron Banner tokens looking for the new guns.

Nintendo Switch Online’s new update doesn’t add EarthBound, but has a silver lining

Nintendo Switch Online will boast over 100 classic games starting May 26. And while Nintendo didn’t add EarthBound and Super Mario RPG like some fans had long hoped, there is an upside: Two games will be coming stateside for the first time. The May update brings color-matching puzzle game Magical Drop 2 and old-school platformer Ninja JaJaMaru-kun to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers.

The two games will be added alongside three others — Spanky’s Quest, Super Baseball Simulator 1.000, and Caveman Ninja (AKA Joe & Mac) bringing the total number of Switch Online classic games to 104. This number includes games from both the Nintendo Entertainment System and the Super NES on Nintendo Switch.

This $25 Zelda amiibo gives Link new fast-travel powers in Skyward Sword HD

Nintendo will release a new amiibo figure featuring Zelda and Loftwing alongside The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD for Nintendo Switch. The $24.99 amiibo will let players quickly travel to the skies — even from within dungeons — anywhere on the surface world.

You can see the new feature in action in Nintendo’s trailer for the Zelda and Loftwing amiibo above. The amiibo can return you from the surface world to the sky, or scanning in the amiibo while in the sky can zap players back to the spot they originally scanned from the surface. It’s a handy fast-travel update to the Wii game, bit it’s not clear if that option is exclusive to the amiibo or that players will be able to acquire this ability through other means.

Naughty Dog’s latest update for The Last of Us Part 2 enhances the game’s performance on PlayStation 5. Patch 1.08 for the game, released Wednesday, will let PS5 owners choose a frame rate target of either 30 frames per second or 60 fps, Naughty Dog said on the PlayStation Blog.

“This allows you to choose your preferred framerate to complement the rest of the enhancements that are part of the PS5 backward compatibility with PS4 games, such as an enhanced resolution, faster load times, and more,” Naughty Dog director of communications Arne Meyer explained.

House of Ashes’ new trailer is a sneak peek at the game’s scares

Supermassive Games is getting ready to unveil the next game in the Dark Pictures Anthology, House of Ashes. A new teaser trailer gives us a hint of the story, showing soldiers being stalked by some kind of mysterious creature. We also get to see what appears to be the monster’s point of view, which has a cool visual effect that feels very inhuman.

The Dark Pictures Anthology is a series of horror games, each of which are self-contained and only last a few hours. The first game, Man of Medan, took place on the abandoned Ourang Medan ghost ship. The second game, Little Hope, is a Salem witch trial story set in small town America.

Days Gone gets a bigger audience with PC, but don’t hope for a sequel

If a sizable PC gaming audience turning out for Tuesday’s Days Gone launch could save a sequel, Bend Studio’s developers aren’t saying. But they have noticed the outpouring of fan support since a report last month said Sony brass already gave a thumbs down to a Days Gone 2 pitch, and the low-key reply there is: thanks, brother.

“It’s exciting to see the support that the game has gotten over the last few years,” lead designer Eric Jensen told Polygon. “It’s been really cool to see the community show their support for the studio and the title. You know, seeing all of [the support], I’m glad we put the effort into our photo mode, because seeing the community posting videos and screenshots and stuff like that, it’s been super exciting.”
