American McGee is still talking about a third Alice game

American McGee is once again hoping to return to the Alice series of games, but EA has yet to agree to finance or even greenlight a third game. While it was his name used on American McGee’s Alice, EA has always controlled the franchise.

“Fresh off the success of “Out of the Woods” on Kickstarter American McGee will start work on a proposal for the next chapter in Alice’s adventures, tentatively titled Alice: Asylum,” McGee wrote on his blog. “This proposal will include artwork, design outline, and financial/business model. When this proposal is finished (and assuming all the numbers and constraints make sense) it’ll be sent to EA.”

Star Fox 2’s manual is online, and it’s really cute

Nintendo has posted the manual for Star Fox 2 online. And it’s a nice piece of design, giving an updated feel to the classic manuals of the Super Nintendo era.

Star Fox 2 is getting its first official release with the launch of the Super Nintendo Classic Edition on Sept. 29. The mini hardware device comes with 20 games previously released for the SNES in the 1990s, as well as Star Fox 2, which was completed in 1995, but never released due to the arrival of the Nintendo 64.

The Good Life, Swery’s cat RPG-murder mystery, opens for crowdfunding

The Good Life, a combination small-town role-playing game, photography simulator and murder mystery from quirky designer Swery, is now open for funding on Fig. First revealed earlier this month, the trailer above gives us as deeper look at the curious crowdfunding project.

With a $1.5 million funding goal, The Good Life sounds like an ambitious debut project from Swery’s new studio, White Owls. The proposed console and PC game stars a photographer named Naomi, a New York City transplant who heads to the English countryside in order to pay back a debt. That drives one of the game’s primary mechanics, debt repayment, which involves Naomi taking on small jobs for clients around town in order to make some cash.

Now that Madden NFL 18 has had its crack at a story mode, FIFA 18 launches its sequel on Septem— hey, wait a minute, is that James Harden?

It is. NBA Live 18’s cover star also cameos in The Journey: Hunter Returns. It’s the second chapter for Alex Hunter (Adetomiwa Edun), the Premier League’s overnight sensation from last year’s The Journey, whose career derails and forces him to find a new club somewhere else in the world. That takes him from the home pitch of the Los Angeles Chargers to the Bundesliga and Brazil.

Destiny 2’s first raid goes live one week after launch

Destiny 2’s first raid will go live at 10 a.m. PT on Wednesday, Sept. 13, one week after the game launches on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Destiny 2 director Luke Smith announced the timing on his personal Twitter account.

Don’t expect to know, well, anything about the raid before it goes live. “There will be no Raid tease for Destiny 2's first Raid,” Smith said. It’s not uncommon for Bungie to keep the details of Destiny raids tightly under wraps, though that doesn’t stop some high-level players from sprinting through them in a matter of hours.
