CD Projekt Red pens defense against staff morale rumors

CD Projekt Red, the Polish developer in charge of GOG.com and The Witcher franchise, is aware of the rumors surrounding it — which suggest that the studio is not a very good place to work. In an open letter posted to its Twitter account, the company addressed growing concerns about staff esteem, mostly by talking around the subject.

“If you’re following news related to CD PROJEKT RED, you might have recently stumbled on information regarding morale here at the studio,” wrote co-founder Marcin Iwinski and studio head Adam Badowski.

Tekken 7’s story mode is its tutorial, because no one reads the instructions

Tekken 7, which launched on consoles and PC over the summer, does not have tutorials. There’s a good reason for this. Bandai Namco’s producers have studied the series’ telemetry and they know that even if a tutorial is offered, players don’t spend enough time in it to make it a worthwhile feature.

That’s per PCGamesN, in an interview with longtime Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada. “You hear a lot of people say this game is great because it has a tutorial but when we look at the data, not many people play these tutorial modes," Harada said.

Top Playstation studio Naughty Dog responds to allegations of sex harassment

Naughty Dog, the developer of The Last of Us and Uncharted franchises, has acknowledged, while disputing, allegations of sexual harassment made by a designer this weekend on social media.

He said he was offered $20,000 in severance pay on the condition that he remain silent about his time with the studio. Ballard said he refused.

Daniel Zeichner, a Labour MP from Cambridge, posed two questions to Karen Bradley, the U.K.’s secretary of state for digital, culture, media and sport. Zeichner asked what steps she will take “to protect vulnerable adults and children from illegal gambling, in-game gambling and loot boxes within computer games.”

“His name rung out though the arcades in Southern California,” said Mike Watson, one of the greatest Street Fighter 2 champions of all time. “Everyone wanted to find Tomo, play against him.”
