BioShock, Dishonored alumni bringing The Blackout Club to consoles in 2019

Several developers credited on well known AAA-console titles such as the BioShock and Dishonored series have formed a new studio and will launch The Blackout Club, billed as a “cooperative paranormal horror mystery,” for PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox one early next year.

Question is the name of their studio and today it released a trailer introducing The Blackout Club. The game is set in a small town where the teenage cast have been experiencing blackouts, some of them for very long times. After one of their group goes missing and the grownups don’t seem to care, the kids begin their own investigation.

Overwatch’s 27th hero is Brigitte Lindholm, Blizzard Entertainment announced. Brigitte will be able to test out on the PTR today. She will be available sometime between 1 p.m. ET and 2 p.m. ET. for users of the Windows PC version of the game.

Daughter of Torbjorn Lindholm, Brigitte is a support character. Part Time UFO is even more evil than a real crane game

Of course the first mobile game from HAL Laboratory, the Kirby franchise’s main developer, would be as charming and adorable as Part Time UFO. The newly localized, $3.99 iOS and Android title is as much a crane game-simulator as it is a puzzle game — but an early level reveals that it’s just as evil as those games can be.

Here’s the gist of Part Time UFO: You’re a tiny, flying robot that just landed on Earth. In order to support your new life on the planet, you take on odd jobs for clients — generally ones that involve moving and stacking bizarre objects, like oranges and toppled pieces of art. To progress, you have to both complete each level and earn enough challenge-based medals.

Doom is now running slightly better on the Nintendo Switch

The latest patch for Doom on the Nintendo Switch added motion controls and a party system for online play, and it also looks like the patch helped the game’s performance on the system. At least a little bit.

The patch notes say only that developer Panic Button “increased the average resolution in lower-res areas of the game” along with some CPU optimizations, but fans are putting together comparisons of the game’s graphics before and after the patch, and there does seem to be at least a small change in visual fidelity.

If Fortnite is getting a jetpack, then so is Roseanne Barr

Some odds and ends related to Fortnite crossed my desk early this morning. To be honest, none of them really amount to all that much on their own. But together, friends ... together, they work. And so, I just wanted to gather them up and lay them all out for you here on our internet website.

First up, Fortnite’s free-to-play Battle Royale mode unleashed a brand new, limited time mode called Solid Gold. All of the weapons that drop onto the map are legendary quality. A squad of four players is required, so if you’re looking for a hardcore, one-shot style of gameplay you’re in luck.
