Fortnite’s pencil warriors may have just been wiped out

Building structures and getting the high ground are two of the most important skills for high-level Fortnite play. You used to be able to peek through structures you built by entering the edit mode and removing a square.

This gave you a way to see what the enemy was doing without them being able to see inside your structure, which put you at the advantage, particularly during late game duels. You could see out, but no one could see in.

PUBG maker drops suit against Epic Games over Fortnite

PUBG Corp., the developer of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, has withdrawn its lawsuit against Epic Games, the creator of Fortnite, according to a report from Bloomberg. PUBG Corp. sued Epic earlier this year in Korea over concerns that Fortnite Battle Royale infringed PUBG’s intellectual property.

It’s not clear why PUBG Corp. ended legal proceedings or if a settlement between the two game makers had been reached, based on Bloomberg’s report.

Fortnite’s Playground Mode is down for repair just hours after release

Fortnite’s Playground Mode was released today as part of patch v4.5. Sort of. The mode was out for about an hour and a half and despite some pretty long queue times, people seemed to be having a good time. But, in order to make a few quick improvements on the queues, Epic took the mode down for repairs.

The Playground is closed for repairs while we investigate some issues with our matchmaking services.https://t.co/8xBpgCayKZ

Playing Pokémon: Let’s Go! with the Poké Ball Plus controller isn’t as fun as it looks

Pikachu aside, the Poké Ball is the image we most associate with Pokémon. It’s surprising that the Pokémon Company took more than two decades to make a controller out of one, but here we are: The Poké Ball Plus peripheral will come out alongside the franchise’s first pair of Nintendo Switch games this November.

I got to play with the Poké Ball Plus twice in as many weeks, playing Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! with it as my controller. After both demos, I feel confident in concluding that the Ball is ... not as fun as I wanted it to be. The dream of having an actual Poké Ball in your hands, one that moves and shakes and reacts like a real one, has been realized, but only in part.

What is Fortnite’s new Playground limited time mode?

The most hotly anticipated Fortnite Limited Time Mode ever is finally here, but it may not work exactly the way you think.

Battle Royale’s new Playground mode may only be here for a limited time, at least for now, but it should be a perfect place to help players who are just starting out, or want to fully master the game’s mechanics.

Pets come to Hogwarts in Harry Potter mobile game

The halls of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry are now a little less lonely in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery — the game’s latest update allows players to own pets.

Students at the British magical school can choose from four different furry friends: Cat, Owl, Rat and Toad. Sure, they’re decidedly less exotic than the animals that Rubeus Hagrid was known to have cared for, like Aragog the acromantula and Buckbeak the hippogriff, but they’re also much safer to pal around with.

5 things to know about Fortnite patch v4.5

The final big patch of Fortnite Season 4 has arrived, and it’s probably the most anticipated of the entire season. While most players will be focused on squeezing all the building practice and creativity they can out of the Playground Limited Time Mode, there are some other nice changes this week.

Alongside Playground Mode, Battle Royale is also getting a new Final Fight Mode called Team of 12, as well as the brand new dual pistols weapon. Loot that falls in the water will now float above it instead of inside it, and teammate markers placed on the map will now appear in the world itself, not just on the compass.

What’s next for oceanic survival game Raft?

Oceanic survival game Raft is one of the biggest Steam hits of the year. Now that many players have arrived at its Early Access ending, we’re on the hook for new updates. Last week, indie developer Redbeet posted a teaser for new additions, featuring a scary looking bird. But it’s likely that any new update will include a lot more new stuff.

Raft began life as a 2016 student project in Sweden, which was posted onto itch.io as a free demo, gaining a significant following. Last month, a paid version of the game was launched on Steam, where it currently sells for $19.99.

Here’s the World of Warcraft content that’s going away for Battle for Azeroth

With each new World of Warcraft expansion, some previous expansion features get left behind, and the transition from Legion to Battle for Azeroth is no exception. Blizzard announced today the official list of content that will be unachievable once the pre-patch for Battle for Azeroth hits sometime in the next month or so.

Thankfully, Blizzard has offered a new system to help power up players before this content is completely sunset.

The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit is a lovely prelude to Life Is Strange 2

Life Is Strange 2 remains shrouded in mystery, but Dontnod’s free, downloadable prequel-of-sorts, The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit, gives us our first taste of what we might expect from the sequel. And even with its brief running time, differing perspective and vague conclusion, Captain Spirit suggests that the next Life Is Strange game will be even more gorgeous and fantastical than before.

[Warning: Full details about the plot of Captain Spirit are below. But the game is both free and short enough to finish in one sitting, so you can go play it and then come back here!]
