In 2019, the name Obsidian has been inseparable from the studio's newly released action RPG The Outer Worlds. Many of us have made the unavoidable comparison to the studio's early work on Fallout: New Vegas and have called it a return to form. On Friday, Obsidian's studio design director Josh Sawyer answered a question on Tumblr regarding a return to the studio's other RPG series.

Game designer and Silent Hill fan Zero Trace Operative has spent the last five months recreating the opening of the first game in the Silent Hill series in first-person. This concept demo is playable now, and although it's only about four minutes long it's a powerful hit of nostalgia for anyone who spent a chunk of 1999 being terrified of foggy streets and air-raid sirens.

Devil May Cry 5 has a limited kind of online co-op in the form of its cameo system, which only activates in certain levels where more than one of the game's protagonists is present, seamlessly inserting another player in that role. Thanks to this system's presence it's proved possible for modders Dante and Raz0r to hack online co-op into most of the campaign missions, and Bloody Palace mode as well. Up to three players can fight together as Nero, Dante, and V—though having multiple instances of the same character is apparently impossible.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 gets a third free 'gift bag' with new features

Larian Studios started giving out "gift bags" to players this year (not to be confused with loot boxes) that each bring free new in-game features to Divinity: Original Sin 2. The third gift bag, called "Order & Magic" arrived this week. It includes several new convenience features that you can independently turn off and on in the game's menu.
