The Royal Mail is honouring classic British games via the medium of stamps

Commemorative stamps are something of a British institution. Other countries do them, of course, but we bloody love them. It's the kind of twee distraction we live for. Past collections have included Star Wars, David Bowie, James Bond, and other cultural behemoths—so it's about time videogames got a shot, eh?

AMD reveals a faster graphics card than the GTX 1660 Ti, plus new mobile processors

AMD has rolled out a steady stream of hardware since last year—3rd-gen Ryzen processors, RX 5700 and 5500-series graphics cards, plus the all new RDNA architecture—and there's no sign of it stopping any time soon. In March 2019, Daedalic Entertainment unveiled The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, an action-adventure game set in JRR Tolkien's famed fantasy realm. Nothing was said about the game itself, though, except that it "tells Gollum's story from a perspective never seen before ... while staying true to the legendary books." But the latest issue of Edge reveals more about what's in store, including that the lead character will not look like he did in Peter Jackson's films.

The race is on to launch the first gaming laptop with a 300Hz IPS display

Now that CES has kicked off in earnest, Acer and Asus are once again teasing gaming laptops with displays supporting ultra-fast refresh rates of up to 300Hz. There's still no word on which machine will be available to buy first, but it's no longer a two-horse race—MSI is saddling up a 300Hz stallion of its own. More on that in a moment.
