Disco Elysium will now run on very low-spec machines

When I tried to boot Disco Elysium on my ye olde Dell XPS 13 9360, I didn't have any luck. It's the kind of RPG that is well-suited to playing on a laptop, but preferably not an over size gaming laptop. Developers ZA/UM seem to get this, because they've just patched the game so that it will run on basically anything.

Former Apex Legends devs launch new 'anti-crunch' studio

In February, Apex Legends executive producer Drew McCoy left Respawn Entertainment after a ten-year stretch that also earned him producer credits on Titanfall and Titanfall 2. He didn't say what he'd be getting up to next, but assured his followers on Twitter that he wouldn't be able to stay away from games for long.

This Dino Crisis fan patch updates Capcom's goofiest survival horror game for modern PCs

Capcom's Resident Evil series is going through a major second wave of popularity lately, mostly on the back of the excellent Resident Evil 2 remake and the lesser, but still fun, Resident Evil 3 remake. The operative word here is remake, because these, indeed, are reinterpretations of old games that once graced the PC. Bizarrely, the classic versions of those games don't have modern PC ports. So it's not really a surprise that Capcom's Dino Crisis, a survival horror series made in the mold of the older Resident Evil games, hasn't gotten the remake treatment or even modern PC ports, either.

Bethesda says it will be 'years from now' before we get Elder Scrolls 6 details

The Elder Scrolls 6 was announced at E3 2018 with a brief flyover of nondescript mountains, some generic music, and a title that wasn't really a title at all because it didn't even say where the game will be located. Despite the complete lack of any actual information, everyone was very excited to learn that a new addition to one of the biggest, most successful RPG series of all time was in fact being made.

Steam Summer Sale dates have leaked

Remember when Steam sale date leaks were a big deal? I don't, really. The dates for Steam sales have been leaking for so long and so far in advance that it seems like the natural order of things now: The start date floats to the surface somewhere, we tell you about it, Valve acts like it doesn't even notice, and then on the appointed day the sale kicks off, Steam becomes inaccessible for an hour, and then we spend the next week or so blowing all kind of money on cheap games.

Leeroy Jenkins, World of Warcraft's greatest meme, turns 15 today

Leeroy Jenkins is easily PC gaming's most pervasive, long-standing joke. The original video, in which a group of World of Warcraft players prepare to tackle a deadly boss encounter in Upper Black Rock Spire but are undone by the bravado of one of their teammates, has been referenced in books, TV, and was even canonized by Blizzard itself. It's one of gaming's first-ever viral videos, and it turns 15 today.
