MSI is making a 7,000MB/s SSD for gamers

MSI is going to start making SSDs. Speedy SSDs at that. We're talking PCIe 4.0 NVMe drives that can hit read speeds of 7,000MB/s and writes of 6,900MB/s. At the moment the drives are only known as MSI SSD, but this will undoubtedly change as we get closer to the launch, which is also unknown. Though we do know they'll be available in capacities up to 4TB.

MSI's ridiculously thin RTX 3060-powered gaming laptop sits shorter than a dime

I won't lie, I often fantasized about some R&D lead at MSI looking at a prototype of their new gaming laptop, losing their temper, flipping a table, and shouting to the rest of their team, 'it needs to be thinner." Weird daydreams aside, ultra-thin gaming laptop users know all too well that the sacrifices in gaming performance that have to be made for the sake of portability.

The next D&D book goes to Candlekeep for a series of short adventures

Remember Candlekeep? It's where the tutorial of the original Baldur's Gate takes place, a monastic library fortress where you run errands, cure a sick cow, and learn to fight before heading off into the Forgotten Realms. Those monks are still obsessed with their books, as we'll see in the next Dungeons & Dragons supplement, Candlekeep Mysteries.

A global reveal event was announced for January 21, but today Bethesda and ZeniMax Online announced that, "Due to Inauguration Day in the United States falling on Jan. 20, we are moving our Global Reveal Event for Gates of Oblivion from Thursday, Jan. 21 to Tuesday, Jan. 26 at 5PM EST/10PM GMT."

CD Projekt co-founder Marcin Iwinski has shared a new video acknowledging that the studio "underestimated the task" of bringing Cyberpunk 2077 to previous-gen consoles, and promising that work on the game will continue. The update also addresses questions about why console review codes were distributed later than PC, and reveals a new DLC roadmap that, among other things, pushes the planned next-gen console update to—hopefully—sometime in the second half of 2021.

EA is still making Star Wars games, with 'a number of projects' ahead

The resurrection of the Lucasfilm Games brand as "the official identity for all gaming titles from Lucasfilm" left us with some questions, not least among them being what it meant for Disney's exclusive Star Wars deal with Electronic Arts. That's not due to expire until 2023, but there was no overlooking the absence of any mention of EA in the announcement.
