Season 3 of The Witcher on Netflix is definitely probably coming

Persistent rumors of a pre-greenlit three seasons have followed Netflix's The Witcher series since its inception, but they've generally been just rumors and claims from industry insiders. Not so much anymore, as the show that had its second season confirmed before the first was released has now had its third season confirmed before the second season is released, if you follow me.

Hardware survey shows Steam's VR growth has stagnated

This year's surge in VR headset ownership among Steam users has proven unsustainable, though gains have held in a user base that started the year some 1 million strong. The launch of Half-Life: Alyx in March saw a record gain of some 1 million more connected headsets. That meteoric growth of Steam's VR population has stagnated to normal levels in the following six months, however, given results from September's Steam Hardware & Software Survey.

Payday 3 is still in the works, will use Unreal Engine

Here's the G-Man in a perfect recreation of Once in a Lifetime by Talking Heads

Animator Corey Laddo has made a motion perfect recreation of Talking Heads'  1980 music video for Once in a Lifetime, and it's frankly incredible. A lot of work, talent, and skill went into this video. It exists now and it is an evergreen piece of impeccable video content. It's apparently not made in Half-Life: Alyx's Source 2, because it was started four months ago using Source Filmmaker, but it turns some of the game engine's problems into remarkable strengths.

Genshin Impact may be biggest-ever global launch of a Chinese game

Genshin Impact released this week, an open world RPG that PC Gamer has called "astounding" and the "dark horse of 2020." Genshin Impact has the odds stacked against it, as western gamers don't typically enjoy games funded by "gacha" gambling mechanics, but it's blowing up anyways. Before release, though, the game had some 5.3 million preregistrations outside of China. On launch day, it had more stream viewers than Fortnite on Twitch, and reactions from both streamers and press have been largely positive.

Rule for a thousand years with this Crusader Kings 3 to Europa Universalis 4 converter

Back in the day there was a converter application that let you move your Crusader Kings 2 games over to Europa Universalis 4. That was really neat, wasn't it? Would you like to do that with the newly-released and very excellent game Crusader Kings 3? Of course you would, and now thanks to modders (praised be their names) you can do just that. You can play nearly one thousand years of history, from Crusader Kings 3's 867 start to Europa Universalis 4's 1821 end.
