Star Wars Battlefront 2 gets a pink Darth Vader mod

Electronic Arts CFO Blake Jorgensen said in November that it was a commitment to "realism" that led it to fill the infamous Star Wars Battlefront 2 loot boxes with usable items rather than cosmetics. "If you did a bunch of cosmetic things, you might start to violate the canon, right? Darth Vader in white probably doesn't make sense, versus in black. Not to mention you probably don't want Darth Vader in pink. No offense to pink, but I don't think that's right in the canon."

Intel responds to security research bug, says no cause for concern

Late last night, we reported on news that Intel processors have a serious bug that could allow malicious applications to read the contents of protected memory. "Players will travel as a party cut off from support across a war-torn landscape on a new mission that is deeply personal," publisher Focus Home Interactive said, an angle emphasized by the E3 trailer that was largely built around an ominous conversation in the cab of a pickup.

The 2017 Steam Awards winners are revealed

The Steam Awards are basically the videogame accolades equivalent of Whose Line Is It Anyway: Everything is made up, and the points don't matter. Nonetheless, games are put into categories and we dutifully vote for them, and when all is said and done, the winners are announced.

Binding of Isaac dev delays turn-based puzzle RPG Legend of Bum-bo

The Legend of Bum-bo is Edmund McMillen's latest collaboration with designer and filmmaker James Id, who handled promotional materials for The Binding of Isaac and Super Meat Boy. It was first teased in March 2016 as "a turn-based puzzle RPG thingy that's randomly generated," and we haven't heard much since. That is, until a recent tweet from McMillen, which gave a much-needed, albeit bittersweet, update:
