When we tested the Core i5-8400, we came away very impressed. It's not that it's the fastest processor on the block—the i7-8700K is faster for gaming purposes, and any number of Ryzen 7 and Core i7/i9 processors are faster in pure number crunching—but it manages to match the performance of last year's i7-7700K at about half the cost. We ended up giving it our Processor of the Year award. There was only one small problem: demand far outstripped supply, and it has been hard to find the i5-8400 in stock.

Twitch announces exclusive Overwatch League livestreaming deal

With just one day remaining before the Overwatch League is scheduled to kick off, Twitch has announced that it will carry livestreams of all of the league's matches as the "exclusive worldwide third-party provider" in all regions outside of China. The two-year deal will also see the development of rewards and other offerings for fans, including in-game items and OWL "Cheermotes."

The Red Strings Club release date set

The Red Strings Club is the next game from Deconstructeam—the studio behind 2014's unorthodox indie point-and-click adventure Gods Will Be Watching. Billed as a "cyberpunk narrative experience about fate and happiness" that features "extensive use of pottery, bartending and impersonating people on the phone to take down a corporate conspiracy", it sounds a wee bit out there. It's also now got a launch date: January 22.
