Nightmare disco platformer Octahedron gets free demo ahead of Tuesday release

Jody took an in-depth look at Octahedron, a colourful platformer in which you have to escape from a neon underworld, last month, and his piece should tell you whether you'll end up enjoying it or not. But if you're still undecided ahead of the game's release on Tuesday (March 20), then developer Demimonde has released a free demo in which you can try out a selection of levels from the full game.

This realism mod makes Kingdom Come: Deliverance much tougher

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is not exactly an easy game, but you can transform Henry from lowly peasant to fearsome knight fairly quickly if you know what you're doing. Modder Knoxogoshi's Ultimate Realism Overhaul looks to change that by making the game harder, especially early on. It bumps up the difficulty of combat, slows down progression, and makes Groschen—Bohemia's currency—harder to come by. It sounds brutal, but if you've already finished your first playthrough then it might be a good excuse to start all over again.

Ambitious space MMO Dual Universe hires one of EVE Online's original designers

Dual Universe's ambitions are vast: it's a space MMO with PvP combat, freeform voxel tech building tools, and an end game in which you have to master a built-in scripting language to reprogram the behaviour of your ship. After Evan saw it up close he described it as "one part EVE, one part Minecraft", which means the latest hire from developer Novaquark is probably a good fit. It's recruited Hrafnkell Oskarsson, one of EVE Online's original designers.

RICO is a co-op cop shooter that looks a lot like F.E.A.R. in its latest trailer

RICO reminds me a lot of F.E.A.R., the solid horror shooter from Monolith Productions, but without the scary bits. It's a co-op cop shooter in which you and a partner blast through procedurally-generated levels, slipping in and out of slow motion as you bust down doors and shotgun bad guys from three feet away, sending them flying across the room.

Arkane's latest Prey DLC hint points to a June 10 launch (or reveal) date

Prey's latest teaser for what we can now safely assume is an expansion set on the moon hints that publisher Bethesda will reveal all the details in its E3 presentation on June 10—or perhaps even launch the DLC live on air. Developer Arkane Studios tweeted out a picture, below, featuring its employees each revealing a bloodshot eye and holding up cryptic signs. But the blackboard in the top-right is the most revealing bit.

Watch this Fortnite player snipe for a win while riding a rocket on top of another rocket

Rocket-riding is nothing new to Fortnite. What was once an accident has since been embraced by community and developers alike, making for an endless stream of dramatic, funny plays. As an ode to the absurd team maneuver, Epic recently added a new emote, the Rocket Rodeo, to the in-game store and it's since become the latest family-friendly way to dance on a corpse (thought I'm still a fan of Take the L).

Bit.Trip game Runner3 gets May release date

The next installment in the Bit.Trip Runner series, Runner3, will sprint onto PC on May 22, developer Choice Provisions has announced. As a long-time fan of the pacey platform games, it's one I'm looking forward to: once again, you control the auto-running Commander Video, guiding him through levels by leaping, sliding and kicking.
