GTA 5 estimated to be the most profitable entertainment product of all time

With an estimated 90 million copies sold across all platforms—PS3, Xbox 360, PS4, Xbox One and PC—GTA 5 is thought to have accrued somewhere in the vicinity of $6 billion since launch in 2013. As reported by MarketWatch (via RockstarIntel), this makes Take Two and Rockstar's open world crime sim more successful than both Star Wars and Gone With The Wind—which are said to have made upwards of $3 billion, adjusted for inflation.

This Street Fighter board game with collectible figurines punched through its $400,000 Kickstarter target in one day

Street Fighter's precise combat doesn't exactly feel like a natural fit for a tabletop game, but one Kickstarter project that turns the franchise into a board game with collectible figurines has proved a huge hit with would-be backers, bringing in nearly $750,000 in its first four days. In Street Fighter: The Miniatures Game you battle across a number of grid-based stages, each of which has destructible terrain and can support versus, free-for-all and team battle game modes.

Summer Games Done Quick announces speedrun lineup

If you're a speedrunning fan then you should mark June 24 in your calendar, because that's when the annual Summer Games Done Quick charity event is due to kick off. The organisers have just released the full list of runners alongside the games they'll power through, which you can browse here. I'm particularly looking forward to watching Semanari complete massive RPG Divinity: Original Sin 2 in just 40 minutes (the world record, if you're interested, is a breezy 28 minutes).

You can already run mods in Skyrim VR

Skyrim VR launched earlier this week, giving Oculus Rift and HTC Vive owners an excuse to jump back in and slay dragons for the umpteenth time. I'd love to play it, but I don't doubt that at some point the VR novelty will wear off and you'll be left playing the vanilla version of Skyrim, and all that entails. Eventually, you'll probably want to install mods—and you can already do just that through both Nexus Mod Manager and Vortex, the Skyrim Nexus's (relatively) new mod management tool.

Hi-Rez starts alpha tests for Paladins battle royale game, shows off weapon crafting system and map

A lot has happened since Hi-Rez Studios announced Battlegrounds, a battle royale mode for hero-shooter Paladins, in January. A month and some player testing later, the developer decided to rename the mode and split it off as a separate game, called Paladins Realm Royale. That involved some "aggressive changes" that halted testing for a while. Now it's back, and Hi-Rez is inviting players to a closed alpha.
