Watch a full Anthem mission in this 15-minute gameplay video

The Anthem alpha test that ran in December was pretty good stuff, I thought. Very Destiny-like, which may or may not be a selling feature in your eyes, but it looked great, ran well (aside from a spot of network wonkiness on the first day), and the Javelin's flight ability was a lot of fun: The controls aren't the best, but that's life when you're flying with a mouse, and I really liked the heightened sense of mobility and map scale that aerial movement provided.

Slay the Spire adds Steam Workshop mod support

Slay the Spire finishes its run in Early Access on January 23, but that impending deadline hasn't stopped the developers from pushing out a major new feature in the first patch of the year. Patch 54, released on Thursday, includes Steam Workshop support for modders who want to make their own cards or other changes. All you have to do to enable mod support is choose "Play with mods" from a new launcher when you start the game. Presumably this will disable Steam Achievements, but we haven't verified for ourselves yet (and achievements aren't mentioned in the patch notes).

The Darkening of Tristram returns to Diablo 3

The Darkening of Tristram has returned to Diablo 3. For the last few years, Blizzard has celebrated the original Diablo’s anniversary by hurtling Diablo 3 players back into the past, into an homage of its progenitor. Take a trip back in time and you’ll net yourself a few rewards, including a wee Butcher minion that follows you around, menacing people.

Hitman: Blood Money and Absolution are getting 4K remasters, on console for now

I’m up to my neck in assassination contracts thanks to Hitman 2, but IO Interactive reckons there’s room for more Hitman in our lives. The developer announced Hitman HD Enhanced Collection today, remastering the excellent Hitman: Blood Money and its disappointing sequel, Absolution. The collection is out next week, on January 11, but only on consoles. There’s no word on a PC version.

Another P.T. remake that I'm too scared to finish has appeared

Ever since P.T. vanished from the PlayStation Store, fans have been trying to bring Konami’s horror teaser back to life. The latest attempt, Unreal PT, remakes the demo from scratch and took developer Radius Gordello 10 months to create. You can grab it on itch.io for free. I just took it for a spin and can confirm that it’s far too scary for a Friday afternoon.
