2018 was an extremely good year for Capcom. After some uneven years and even big games like Resident Evil 7 and Street Fighter 5 failing to make quite as large a splash as the publisher was hoping, it’s managed to hit its stride once again, largely thanks to the excellent Monster Hunter: World.

It's the place to go to get your fix of fan missions made in a new engine— specifically, the Doom 3 engine, whose lighting effects are put to good use in maps like those highlighted in our list of the best Dark Mod missions. (In addition to those I'm partial to Creeps, a spooky little horror experience.)

Over 10 million people allegedly watched a Marshmello concert live in Fortnite

Masked dance music DJ, friend of Ninja, and host of his own cooking channel Marshmello played a live concert in Fortnite this weekend. For the duration of the 10-minute show at Pleasant Park, which was broadcast across thousands of servers, weapons were disabled and respawns turned on so players could concentrate on deploying dance emotes instead of murder. There were holograms, lights, fireworks, and strategically deployed cessations of gravity, which admittedly didn't happen last time I went to see The National.

Free Dad Videos is a YouTube channel devoted to the movies Matt Silverman makes with his five-year-old daughter Amelia. Their latest, Nomad Squadron, is a space adventure set in the universe of No Man's Sky, in which recordings of Amelia—and guest YouTubers Austin Creed, aka wrestler Xavier Woods, and Greg Miller from Kinda Funny—are superimposed on footage captured in-game.
