Riot Games hires its first Chief Diversity Officer

Six months after an in-depth Kotaku report revealed a pervasive "bro culture" at League of Legends studio Riot Games, the company has hired Angela Roseboro, formerly of Dropbox, as its first Chief Diversity Officer. Steam is haunted, keeps playing random creepy sounds from Amnesia

There you are idly using your computer when, suddenly, you begin to hear a series of terrifyingly ominous noises coming out of your speakers. Among them is the horrifically wet sound of someone being stabbed, the manic laugh of a woman (or is she sobbing?), and finally an atmospheric rumbling that evokes the creepy feeling of being deep, deep underground. These sounds repeat again and again until you finally identify the source: Somehow, Steam's music player (you didn't even know it had one, did you?) is randomly playing sound effects from horror classic Amnesia: The Dark Descent. It sounds like the beginning of some creepypasta internet myth, but this is exactly what's been haunting redditor 'YouNiqueUser' and others over on the Steam subreddit.

Games need to stop wasting bandwidth with gigantic patches

Today marks the start of The Division 2's open beta. I got to play the private beta last month, which was a healthy 45GB or so download. When the open beta started today, I was concerned I'd have to download the whole game again, despite what were likely only a few updates to the game files between betas. Thankfully, Ubisoft's UPlay client was smart and saw the private beta folder and used those files. The result was a much more palatable 13.56GB download. Thanks, Ubisoft, for respecting my time and my bandwidth quota!

Although EA has not announced anything officially, let's lay out the information we have so far.
