New PUBG Mobile Update Adds A Second Zombie Mode

about X hours ago from

The latest update for the mobile version of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds adds a new zombie mode. The update also revamps PUBG Mobile's existing zombie mode, Survive Till Dawn.

The new mode, Darkest Night, sees you or your team facing off against waves of zombie hordes and emerging poison gas. In Darkest Night, you spawn in a random spot on the map. Every player is given a passive ability to help them and others survive, and you choose whether to work together or operate solo. There is no final victor in Darkest Night. Anyone still alive at the end of every wave is a winner.

Survive Till Dawn 2 remakes the PUBG Mobile and Resident Evil 2 crossover event from last year. New enemy types and weapons have been introduced, tweaking the strategies you'll need to survive the changing day and night cycle. The full changes are outlined below.

Digital Xbox One With No Disc Drive Confirmed With Release Date, Specs, Price, And More

Confirming earlier reports and leaks, Microsoft has officially announced an all-digital Xbox One console that has no disc drive. The Xbox One S All-Digital Edition, as it's called, launches on May 7 and it's priced at $250 USD.

According to Xbox executive Jeff Gattis, the consumer demand for digital content is "stronger today than ever before," and the new, all-digital Xbox One is a response to that.

"Gaming and technology have changed quite a bit since the first Xbox debuted in 2001. During this time, we've seen a digital transformation across gaming, music, TV, and movies," Gattis said. "The Xbox One S All-Digital Edition was created for those who prefer to find and play their games digitally and are looking for the most affordable way to play Xbox games."

Apex Legends Nintendo Switch Is Unlikely, Respawn Says

about X hours ago from

Apex Legends developer Respawn is aware of the interest among fans in a Nintendo Switch version of the battle royale game, but it might not happen--or it might. Respawn isn't ready to say just yet. Project lead Drew McCoy told Wired that the studio is working on "a lot of things" right now, but there is nothing to announce yet about a Switch edition.

"If Switch was coming, we would tell you, and we would blast it across the world. We are hearing all the Switch players who say they want the game," he said. "I can't make any promises right now. We have a lot of things that we're working on, so stay tuned for anything in the future. But currently we don't have anything to announce."

McCoy's wording is interesting. He never outright says it won't happen, or even that there are no plans. He's saying that Respawn has nothing to announce right now. This is very far from a confirmation that Apex Legends is coming to Switch, however.

Confirming rumors and reports, Microsoft announced a new Xbox subscription offering on its latest Inside Xbox livestream. The company is launching a new subscription package on Xbox One that bundles Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass together. It's called Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and costs $15 USD/month.

This is the full version of Xbox Live Gold, which itself already includes access to free games every month with Games With Gold, in addition to the ability to play games online and access other network features.

Xbox Game Pass is Microsoft's all-you-can-play offering that provides access to a library of more than 100 Xbox One and backward-compatible Xbox 360 titles. Also, many of Microsoft's newest games are immediately available on Game Pass. This was the case for Sea of Thieves and Crackdown 3.

about X hours ago from

[Update] The Inside Xbox stream for April has begun, watch below. [Original story] April's Inside Xbox live stream is scheduled for today at 2:00 PM PT / 5:00 PM ET / 10:00 PM BST. The show will cover pre-E3 announcements, as well as news for Game Pass and several upcoming Xbox One games. You'll be able to watch the stream on Twitch, YouTube, and here on GameSpot, where we'll also be delivering all the latest news as it's announced.

The April Inside Xbox live stream is scheduled to be an hour long, and "will explore some exciting Xbox Game Pass news," Xbox Wire editor-in-chief Will Tuttle wrote in a blog post. The show will also provide further details for the upcoming anniversary update for Sea of Thieves and footage of the beta for Warhammer: Chaosbane. An exclusive look at Rage 2 will also occur during the live stream, followed by "several surprises" for other games.

Rage 2 seems to be the focus of the live stream, as watching the show on Mixer while logged into your Microsoft account will unlock a Rage 2-themed avatar item. So far, most of the gameplay trailer for Rage 2 have focused on the game's fast-paced combat--which incorporates destructive powers to make you feel like an unstoppable superhero. However, there haven't been too many examples of the game's driving components--which is surprising given developer Avalanche Studios' work on Mad Max.

New Avengers: Endgame Twitter Emojis Include Some Surprising Faces

about X hours ago from

Look, there are a lot of characters in the MCU--but apparently Twitter is pretty determined to make sure we remember absolutely all of them. The social network added not one, not two, but 40 new character specific hashtag emojis for Avengers: Endgame--and some of them were a bit of a surprise.

The list of emojis includes all the heroes you'd expect, of course. Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, and Hawkeye/Ronin (that's right, Clint gets two) are all on the list, as well as Rocket, Nebula, Captain Marvel, War Machine, Okoye, and Ant-Man. But on top of the characters we've already seen represented in the trailers, there are also emojis for every hero who has been confirmed dusted, from Dr. Strange to the Winter Soldier and every Guardian of the Galaxy, as well as some unexpected throwbacks to some fan favorites.

Thor: Ragnarok breakouts, the lovable revolutionary Korg and his knife-handed friend, Miek, both have their own emojis now. Red Skull got one under the name "Stonekeeper," as a nod to his surprise cameo in Infinity War. Marvel Studio's boss Kevin Fiege has one, for the hashtag "#MarvelStudios" and so does the Infinity Gauntlet itself, in addition to Thanos.

Cobra Kai's Ralph Macchio On Daniel LaRusso's Season 2 Evolution, From Student To Sensei

Cobra Kai's Ralph Macchio On Daniel LaRusso's Season 2 Evolution, From Student To Sensei

It's a blisteringly cold December day in Atlanta, Georgia, and I find myself sitting outside, watching something truly special. While it will be portrayed on-screen as a sunny day in California's San Fernando Valley, the set of Cobra Kai Season 2 was anything but warm when I arrived to watch former Miyagi-Do student Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) become the sensei he likely never expected to be.

The scene that unfolded in front of me is a rather simple one. Daniel is in the backyard of Mr. Miyagi's home, which was painstakingly recreated by the show's production team in an Atlanta parking lot, teaching one of his new students. Given that he trained under Mr. Miyagi (Pat Morita) in the Karate Kid films, though, the only way he knows to teach kids karate is through chores.

However, those are lessons from a different time. Now, as I sat in Miyagi's backyard while cameras rolled on LaRusso instructing a new student about how to sand the floor--"Left circle, right circle"--it hit me that even though Season 2 will bring Daniel full-circle in the same way Season 1 did Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), the lessons he's imparting aren't exactly the same as the ones he learned from Miyagi. Instead, like the Daniel character itself, Miyagi-Do has evolved.
